Pakistan is rapidly improving its telecommunications sector in an unprecedented way. After the initial reshuffling and Deregulation Policy for the Telecommunication Sector in telecom sector in the musharraf era this industry has risen to new heights providing jobs for hundreds of thousands.It has become the highest FDI magnet in the Market.

In order to capitalise on the growth Further PTA is shifting its focus on 3G and 4G by creating a new framework for having at least 79 million 3G users by 2025 to join the club of the top 10 markets with mobile broadband in the world.

According to estimates, Pakistan is to have more than 2.1 billion connected devices in a USD 17 billion per year market by 2025.it is estimated that increment in associated gadgets will introduce a 11 times greater business for telcos than what we have today for voice market in Pakistan. PTA sees incomes from associated gadgets to surpass both the Voice and Data by 2020.

This Exponential growth will have an all around highly positive impact on the economy and create a new dynamic opening for the betterment of this country.

Is this a metric to test the progress of Pakistani nation? our existence is at risk with terrorism on ever increasing level. I seriously doubt these stats in the context

I have heard about it and it's a very good news for a struggling economy like Pakistan. 79 Million users means billions Rupees market and it will create hundred of thousands of jobs till 2025. It can bring in tax revenue as well.

I don't know about that date of OP but till now I m unable to use 3G from Mobilink on my cell in my city.

4G & LTE is also now available in Pakistan but sets of that tech are expensive therefore all people can't afford it whereas 3G sets are cheap.

Economy is integral part of national security in 21st century. Yes - we have to eradicate terrorism, but same time economy need to be fixed to generate employments to keep people busy with productive things rather than going astray.
