Politics are dirty – you have to do a lot of flattering of the higher person in authority, especially in Pakistan. It is usual to see politicians gratifying others to make a place in a political party. What makes all of this shocking is when an educated person follows the similar pattern. When a person acquires education, that too from one of the top universities in the country, it makes them stand out. The general perception is that they will be smarter than those who have no educational background which is something common to see in Pakistani political parties.
When it comes to the politics in Pakistan, not everyone sitting on the important seats have the brilliance, knowledge or education which makes them fit to run the country or the state or even a district.
Speaking of which, LUMS Alumna MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt always surprises us.

Previously, a number of publications have mentioned how well-maintained, fashionable and beautiful Hina Pervaiz Butt is. Despite that, her education is something many have talked about before.

Ms. Hina Pervaiz Butt daughter of Mr. Pervaiz Akhtar Butt was born on January 19, 1982, in Lahore. After her initial education from Convent of Jesus and Marry, Lahore, she obtained the degrees of B.Sc (Hons) in 2004 and that of MBA in 2010 from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Lahore (LUMS). She did her Master of Arts in International Relations from Middlesex University, Dubai in 2016. She has completed “Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century” from Harvard Kennedy School, USA.
A business woman, who has been elected as Member, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in general elections 2013 against one of the seats reserved for women. She is a fashion designer and has given new trends to this field. She also operates an NGO which provides vocational training for women to make them financially independent. She has the honor to serve as General Secretary of First Women Parliamentary Caucus. She has visited UK, UAE, Turkey, India, Thailand, and USA.

Pakistanis talk about how educating the youth empowers them enough to bring change in the country. Despite that, given how the statement makes complete sense, one wonders what went wrong in this particular case. Hina Butt indeed stands out among the political masses in Pakistan, but for all the wrong reasons.
