Remaining united is biggest. No money, space etc can buy it. Look at UK, how it lost territory and will this year again in referrendum maybe.

Pakistan got nukes, but it broke apart. I think pakistan would trade nukes to get bangladesh and kashmir.
Lot of people speculated, feared that India might disintegrate for its unbelievable diversity. But we survived. So did Pakistan. As long as the educated liberals and a fine trained army remain dominant in Pakistan it will continue to be as it is. So, I don't see any reason to be worried, my friend.

In my opinion, centralized administrative framework and secular liberal democracy that Congress was primarily proponent of (before 1947 off course) made a huge influence on Indians of different corners of this country. Right wingers might come up with Dharmic theories but I am not sure if it played any vital role at all.

Most importantly, in spite of thousand hurdles and disappointing instances Indians kept faith in constitution, judiciary and democracy (despite the fact that it is being abused day in day out by the corrupted leaders). A man will lose his every penny but he can visit the court till his last day because he has hope to get justice in the end. It is the hope that might have kept the spirit alive till today.

I would say staying independant and not going into another 1000 years of foreign rule is biggest achievement of these 67 years

What do you think has been the biggest Success/Achievement of 67 Years old Independent India?

Myne - TO STILL REMAIN UNITED IN SUCH A DIVERSITY.
the biggest achievment of independent india in last 67 years is abolition of feudal system and revolution in social justice and educational & medical depratments

No. Pakistan will be divided, sadly. We're too much into ethnicity and on this we base our votes. PTI had peshawar canidate and he lost because people thought he wasn't a pathan. We elect party for their ideology, not what ethnicity of the person is. These MNAs then select the PM, so essentially, voters are electing PM. but we're too dumb to understand that and think by electing 50 pathan MNAs vs 100 punjabi MNAs, they'll have 'won.' Beside, partition of Pakistan is easy. we already got provinces based on ethnicity. Does Canada have anything like "whiteistan" province? Or desimulk province? Some western countries do have ethnic provinces, but they're also educated enough to know consequences of seperation. We've poor uneducated people who elect stupid people to power and then blame the country for their power and neglection.

When we've sindi PM, punjabis feel injustice. Also we're better now with baloch, but what we did to them is harsh. We take their gas yet baloch has seen little improvment. There were some nice people who did lots of work, but bad people took over.

India will stay together. We would've had the other part of kashmir if it wasn't for india advancement in tech and business. So kashmir has to choose 'brotherhood' or 'business.' Once you've a fully educated country and a powerful economy, it's unlikely to break apart, unless you do harm to them. In UK's case, they 'raped' resources from lands they conquered.

Pakistan
divided yes ... disintegrate no
No.. atleast for some yr not possible..
with all problem Pak still have 2 imp pillars to stand by army and islam..
with its all Neg its still unite all pakistanis...
only thing now that now have to turn to parliament .pak suprem court.. and democractic instition ...
---
Election
we in india also have same issue
we used to elect and even now (but now improving) on caste, than his merit
now people voting for developemnt, ecuation, water, electricty, and caste
so prioritize are changing for good
pak need time and system to change that
--
kashmir..
it was and is imp issue..
question is ...
will you sacrifice nation for that ?
brotherhood is imp till stomach if full
when its empty business rules...
---
education..
india stand united .. one imp reason is non biased non religeous ..secular education..
no one teach hate in book .. giovt books
if someone tried .. judciary and social group come flocking
our primary , secondary still in shambles... but still got basic rights
to provide feed to higher education ...
that why we can have APJ abdul kalam so many like him...

This is one of biggest achievements of india.
