66% Pakistanis against Nawaz’s resignation: Gallup survey

Didn't General Musharraf have a lot of FB Likes too before his ill-advised arrival in Pakistan? Translating any positive online presence into positive results out on the street is not easy.

Musharraf has supporters, he just doesn't have political skills like Imran to bring people on the streets.

Musharraf right now is the Imran of 2003-04

And you are correct about rarely does popularity on online media translates to streets.

During Musharraf times, there was a lot of suicide bombings in Islamabad, Lahore and other cities. You almost hear this news every weeks or so.

When PPP in power, suicide bombings has massively decreased.

Dear Musharif is a brave man and a hero who faced these TTP or else with bravery that's why ther were bomb blastings in that time..

Not a credible survey. Dr Ijaz shafi is Nawaz sharif's admi.

Main problem for Musharraf political failure is his military background.

That is indeed one of the problems of PTI. As we can see here on PDF and on FB, it has strong online support, but it simply does not translate well into the streets of Pakistan. Its opponents know and exploit this weakness very well.

Gallup is bought. Pew research is biased.

So funny our awam...If the same survey told the opposite story, you would be screaming I TOLD YOU SO!!!!

The same Gallup shows an overwhelming 87% support for the Army.

Pakistan has a healthy amount of ignorant fools to support PMLN, but I doubt its as high as 66%. The survey's accuracy would be greatly dependant on the areas they surveyed. And survey groups have local workers, who could be biased.
Hey Mr educated its all about perception. I dont know why you are calling others as ignorant fools just because they dont consider imran as messiah of all their problems the way you do. They can also perceive you as ignorant fools for supporting certain political party. Better learn to respect the right of people to support or to vote for any political party they wish even if you disagree with their political views..

If this was offensive to you, I sincerely apologize.
I don't consider Imran Khan messiah. My stance is: Until Pakistan gets a better leader, I am either with Imran Khan or with no one.
The reason I used that wording was to express the fact that most lower-middle class people in Pakistan vote thinking like: "woh MPA meray gaun ka hai, baad me kaam aye ga" etc. PMLN has been in power very many times and have rarely fulfilled their promises. I appreciate the fact that they have built motorways and metro-buses etc but corruption, injustice and loadshedding are more pressing matters than lack of public transport. Not to mention the downsides (especially its economics) of such a project and the fact that Nawaz owns cement factories.

I simply don't see how someone else can perceive PMLN to be good for them if they are aware of all the facts.

You have full right to criticize any political leader, their polices, fake promises or corruption but i only objected to your name callings used for those who don't support or vote for your fav candidate or political party. You consider some political leader as corrupt/incompetent and there are still those lower or middle class Pakistani who still go and vote for him then what you goanna do? These lower or middle class people are the ones who suffer most in hands of corrupt politicians . Democracy is not the rule of my personal favorite leader. Its actually accepting the opinions/vote of majority( may be dumb or fool 4 u) even if we disagree with them.

In US almost every congressman is a millionaire. Same is the case in UK, Norway and other Western style democracies when majority of these nations are actually made of lower middle class.

This quote summarizes it perfectly.
Democracy is a device that ensures we shall be governed no better than we deserve.
George Bernard Shaw (1856 - 1950)
The problem with democracy is that the majority is rarely right. The whole point of having a leader is that people need someone wise to make good decisions.
Anyways, Peace.

here is my quote

“If there is a rotten government in a democracy, the main reason for this is that there is a rotten majority over there!”
Mehmet Murat ildan

Majority win in democracy irrespective of whether they are right or wrong. You think IK is such wise leader. Others might see him as confuse, immature politicians who lack focus and instead of concentrating and changing given province KPK ( where he got majority under same election) is busy in other provinces in making unrealistic promises about naya Pakistan. I personally don't expect people to agree with my concept of right or wrong and there is no absolute right or wrong as far as supporting politicians concerned . See here
