6 IAF Super Hercules C-130J aircrafts take off and fly in quick succession

The Indian Air Force recently completed the induction of six American C-130J Super Hercules transports aircraft. The aircraft would likely be used for rapid deployment of its Special Forces, taking off & landing from poorly paved runways.

The purpose of flying all the aircraft at the same time was to test & demonstrate rapid troop mobilization as & when required.

That requires very large scale troop carrying capability - the C-17s, just wait for another year. C-130s are good for SFs raids.

We used IL-76 aircrafts in operation cactus in maldives, we were free to do what we wanted. But can we do this sort of operation at free will using C-17s & C-130s without any consultations/objections with US?? I doubt that.

Actually India can use these transports in any way it deems nessercary, these aren't fighters and aren't controlled in the same way. If it were the case the IAF certainly wouldn't have gone for these US options- there were other alternatives.

It doesn't matter if it's fighters, transport aircrafts, trainers or even ATGMs, all weapons and techs with any US development share behind it, falls under their laws and regulations. Remember the reports about the GE engines for LCA, which had operational restrictions in the begining too. Don't think for a minute that the US would not oppose any use of their aircrafts in areas of their interest, that's why we buy there stuff only in limited numbers and as specialised additions.

than why are we buying US weaponry when we don't have freedom to use them, like the case of INS Jalashwa which cannot be used in war, what is the use of these weaponry when we cannot use them in our hour of need, i know they are of superior tech, but superior or not if weapons cannot be used they are of zero value.

That would depend on where your ghar is. If it is in peshawar or quetta, you are perfectly safe. From India, at least.

You only have to worry if you live very close to the indian border. The cold start doctrine is about shallow thrusts.

Because they have very advanced techs and capabilities, that are useful for our forces in certain areas, while the workhorses of our forces will remain sanction proof and from reliable sources like Russia, Israel or Europe. And the fact that they have objections, doesn't stop us from using the arms and techs as longs as we can (spares are available and safe operations can be secured), but the more important the tech, the higher will be the restrictions see F35 with no customisations, no ToT, no source codes, frequent control of US personal, maintenance only at certain hubs in dedicated countries..., all reasons why IN can't afford to use F35Cs from their carriers for example.
