5th 052C DDG N.o152 will join PLAN, 2014 China will own 8x 052C/D

I do not believe PLAN just commission 6 Type 052D. 12 or more of it looks a decent number.

It's hard to say, like 1st batch of 052C DDG building (N.o170 and N.o171) at 2005, after eight years China start to build rest Four. This 052D building schedule now seems total Six, others 052D might build after next years. Anyway 0.9billion $ DDG is not cheap.

The type-052D is the game changer.

It could pack 32 hq-9, quad-pack 64 medium-range SAMs and also hold 16 land-attack cruise missiles.

According to one of our military insiders, China has a secret weapon named as HQ-16Z, this SAM can be quad-packed and it has a range between 150-200km.

If you Google HQ-16B, it has a range of 75km and it is just an export version.

If this is true, then the Type-052D is already the best anti-air destroyer in the world.

But I am a little sceptical as a far more advanced propulsion materials would be required to allow this kind of range from such a small missile.

Let us wait and see if it turns out to be true.

I also find it difficult to believe at the first glance, but considering that China can pull out something like DN-2 and WU-14, then anything could be possible.

Regarding the 052C's........there are just 2 left to commission...............and on the 'wikipedia' 052C page, someone has filled in the commissioning dates for the 5th & 6th 052C's

........and they are 5th 052C...............14th April 2014
......................and 6th 052C...............9th October 2014

so, that means we shall know tomorrow how accurate this info is wont we?

and China gets another AEGIS Destroyer in its fleet.

5th 052C commissioning date, I bet is just a symbolic ceremonial. From its full installation and long painted of its pennant number. I can be sure it has already achieved full combat abilities. If a war started now. 152 can enter combat anytime.

Relax, i think 2014 5th 052C commissioning (It doesn't matter whether April or May) is Okay. If everything going well, 6th maybe also in 2014.

After 6th 052C and 2nd 052D's sea trial and return HP shipyard, No153 and N.o173 DDG r ready, new 2x 052C/D will join PLAN soon.

2014 China Navy will have 8x 052C/D DDGs (052C class: DDG-170 / DDG-171 / DDG-150 / DDG-151 / DDG-152 / DDG-153, 052D class: DDG-172 and DDG-173), Chinese will do the achievement in rest months of 2014.
