Turkey official: ‘415,000 Syrian babies born in Turkey since 2011’

More than 400,000 Syrian babies have been born in Turkey since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, said an official from Turkey’s Interior Ministry, Anadolu Agency reported.

“The population of Syrians in Turkey is a young one, as [only] around 100,000 among 3.6 million Syrians in Turkey are older than 60,” said Abdullah Ayaz, who heads the ministry’s migration management department.

“Since the start of the crisis, more than 415,000 Syrian babies have been born in Turkey,” Ayaz told a meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (PAM) in Turkey’s capital Ankara.

The two-day meeting will last through Thursday at the Turkish parliament.

Turkey hosts more Syrians than any other country in the world.

Ayaz said that Turkish officials are continuing work to make sure all Syrian children get an education.

He added that since 2011, Turkey has barred more than 74,000 foreigners from entering the country.

Turkey has been a main route for irregular migrants trying to cross to Europe, especially since 2011, the start of the Syrian civil war.

Over 265,000 irregular migrants were held in Turkey in 2018, according to the Turkish Interior Ministry.

Syria has only just begun to emerge from a devastating conflict that began in early 2011 when the Assad regime cracked down on demonstrators with unexpected ferocity.

According to UN figures, hundreds of thousands of civilians have been killed or displaced in the conflict, mainly by regime airstrikes in opposition-held areas

Dude, no offense, but you are Bangladeshi. Your country is tiny (KSA is almost 20 times larger in comparison) yet you have a population almost equal of that of Pakistan. How many people are there in tiny Bangladesh? 160 million?! You are the most densely populated country on the freaking planet compared to its geographic size.

Most of Syria (Al-Assad controlled areas) are perfectly peaceful. As is most of Eastern Syria. Syria is no longer the Syria of 2013 or 2014 or earlier.

In Turkey many are not living like that and even if they are, humans will be humans and continue to mate irrespective of where and under which circumstances.

Syria is next door to Turkey. The same Erdogan has been more heavily involved in Syria than anyone else until the Russians decided to join the party. He (Erdogan) wanted to topple Al-Assad. The same Erdogan welcomed Syrians openly. The Same Erdogan (AKP) gives them citizenship and residence permits so they can vote for him and his party (AKP). There is no need to feel sorry for anyone here. Similarly KSA is hosting more Yemenis than anyone else. As well as 500.000 Syrians since 2011.

This planet is on loan anyway and the population of the planet will peak in 2050 (some 10 billion) and from then on the numbers will get lower. Let people have fun, it is their choice at the end of the day. You can't cut their private parts of.

Give it a rest with your regular "densely populated and poor" about Bangladesh. Our and the subcontinent's woes and poverty is a drop in the ocean in our thousand years of history (we were never poor in history) and a direct result of colonization for about 200 years and we still haven't managed to recover from it, no oil or gas does not help the situation either, so we have to do it the hard way, business, industries and the likes. The mockery and snide remarks of our poverty is temporary and we will put up with that until we recover. And no, the swampy riverine geography does not make it difficult, it's a blessing, we have one of the most fertile lands in the world.

No it is not. The Christians and "Pagans" in Sub-Saharan Africa disagree with you as does most of Latin America (Christian). Many Muslim countries have healthy birth rates. Most of the Arab world for instance with only Iraq, Yemen and a few other countries having a too big population increase but at the same time no Arab population increase can be bad.

Not sure if you are aware of this or not (it is common knowledge though) but the Arab world is the cradle of civilization and home to the oldest civilizations. The Arab world has been incredibly rich for most of its recorded history as well, Arabia included which was once one of the richest areas of the world for millennia due to the incense trade and other natural riches, strategic location, minerals, geography, being in the middle of all the ancient trade routes etc. Much like is the case today.

There is no mockery at all. Just stating some facts (Bangladesh being the most densely populated country thus your first remark was an own goal of huge proportions, Bangladesh being a very small country is true as well as is it being swampy). Good for agriculture but not much else. Agriculture that originated in the Arab world (case in point) and the same agriculture that the Arabs had a huge impact on.

I wish nothing but the best for Bangladesh and know that most Bangladeshis like Arabs (seen it myself countless of times and on social media, all it takes is to visit some Arabic music video and you will have 1000's of comments (friendly) of Bangladeshis). Arabs had a historical presence in that country after all (despite the location) and helped spread Islam. if I am not wrong some Hashemite dynasty (Shia if I am not wrong) even ruled modern-day Bangladesh for a while.

People like you (who openly have claimed, unless I am thinking about another user here) to "dislike" Arabs (I wonder how many Arabs you have met let interacted with let alone Arabs from all 20+ Arab countries, lol) are rare and even rarer among informed people. No offense.
