What's new

4 Soldiers Martyred while 2 terrorists killed & 1 arrested in Tank , KP , Pakistan - Dec 2021 .

What you on about?
You knows very well what i am talking about, you want to say those people sending money to Pakistan so pak army should keep fighting a useless war with TTP ?

.
TTP is back.

Pak establishment is always ready to have peace deal with TTP in last 15 years but its TTP whose demands are always unrealistic and their demands also keep changing all the time. TTP wants to rule Pak or atleast Pashtun dominated land just like Afghan Taliban.

Either hand over the part of Pak to them or keep losing your soldiers or go to Afganistan and kill them all. There is no 4th solution.

Also Indian help to TTP was highly exaggerated. Current TTP chief was at least in Afghan jail in Ashraf Ghani Govt compared to now when he is roaming freely in Afghanistan. The reality is Pak didn't get much for making Afghan Taliban the ruler of the country except some nice statements coming from low level Afghan Taliban officials.

I always read your comments and try to hold back from commenting .
But do you really have any clue about the complex nature of politics and warfare in this area. You talk like a great general in waiting and I bet the minute you hear gunfire you would pee in your pants.

There is no homogenousTTP orTalibans operating. They are different from area to area and from village to village. All this talk about Talibans under control is a complete hogwash. They don’t have the resources (money) to control these hired militias.

you blaming Bajwa and generals for every ambush is childish and lacks even basic common sense .
It’s one line to be picked up as the simplest conclusion to get. It also acts as some personal absolution of blaming someone seen worse to feel better about oneself - no different than Hindutva talking on Lova Jihad or a Q anon supporter blaming a pizza parlor for having a child cannibal ring so unique to Pakistanis.

The establishment does have blame on its shoulders but there is also an issue of commitment of funds to another large scale operation vs using the negotiate with “moderates” and surgically remove the key leadership.
Some TTP is not just embedded with Afghan Taliban commanders in terms of relationship the organization isn’t exactly “organized” either. One militant was heard of fighting for the Taliban one day but joined the TTP after being paid more.

Meanwhile, the government is sending more aid to the TTP harbourers and lobbying for them on international forums.

The problem people don’t understand is this complex intertwined relationship between TTP and Talibans where they operated, supported and depended on each other for a long time .

It’s not easy for Talibans to say ok you are done and get lost. Remember Talibans gave up their government because they could not do it to Osama .

that’s why we need to go slowly and notover demand from an extremely weak and fragmented Taliban leadership. We need to prop up the regime so we can make them do things for us. Right now in their infancy stage Talibans cannot pick fights and loose soldiers ….. they need time to deal with TTP

Unfortunately that aspect is lost upon 90% here.

We need to study on how the British ended the northern Irish insurgency, see if any lessons from it can be applied to TTP.

What you'll soon see is that they'll never deal with TTP. TTP is too much leverage for them to give up.

This was the reason I was in support of dialogue with TTP

Our forces have clearly failed to curb TTP in Waziristan or to lower own casualties while raising cost for the enemy

In such a situation dialogue was the only option left to bring somewhat pause to daily deaths of soldiers. This was too most probably a successful ambush by TTP on some checkpost or convoy

But PDF members get their chaddis in a twist whenever dialogue with TTP was mentioned

What part of "if you can't beat them join them" PDF members don't understand?
Who is trying to beat them? The army is relaxing. The COAS is not even bothered.
When you negotiate with men who's words means nothing you only lose.

Here is another gem of idiocy…..
what do you want him to do grab a gun and run to the front?

what most stupid people don’t understand is that COAS doesn’t make policies …. He merely gives the go ahead ….

field commanders have the most input but again what can we do in face of uneducated masses
