What's new

4 Pantsir S-1s VS 1 UAV

.
And just how many cruise missiles actually had to be launched in those attacks to achieve those 3[supposed] kills hmmm..?
Those weren't cruise missiles. Those were SkyCeptor drones. They're cheap as hell.
Well, it took one to destroy the first Pantsir half a year ago, two were launched against the active Pantsir that tried to resist recently, but the first one hit anyways, and only one was launched at the third Pantsir.

Probably 300 I would say.
No one cares about what you had to say.

.
AA gun with bigger caliber and air burst shells is required

57 mm gun with air burst and proper fire control is likely to easily shoot drones and even missiles such is dalilah

Im puzzled how this is unexpected to military planners. It was clear long time a go. Pantzir guns are lousy in engaging small targets. AA defence system on the basis of 57 mm gun is required

A 57mm cannon can destroy a drone or a missile just as a 30mm cannon can, the question is if Russia can put it in a system that is capable of doing so:-):-)

There is a difference. Bigger shell has a greater volume and can more easily accommodate electric circuit and battery commanding setting of the charge in the desired coordinate. Bofors had achieved this for the 40 mm shell in the 90s. Accnet here is on the air burst capability

The second point, Russia already has 57 mm gun modul. Mounted on the BMP 3 it called Derivatsia (Derivation)

The problem here is detection of the extra small targets and distinguishing the from birds. Flying objects with turbine or rocket engine could be detected with some kind of thermal sensor. Drones with small and simple piston engine have low thermal signature. Maybe combination of the optical sensors with artificial intelligence could help detect and track small drones :pop:

Dude, it's just Russia that is struggling to destroy drones with 30mm cannons because Russia can't produce a good platform. All other AA and CIWS work with 30mm cannons and do their job well

Were these platforms tested against israely advanced drones and missiles or at least at shooting range as is Pantsir is, unsuccessfully ?

This is direction to go along :

Few years a go russia developed fire control system with shell programming capability

Metal storm from the preprogrammed shell is neutralizing shell scattering

Time for Syria to get powerful and use them around its air defences..

The Russians Are Jamming US Drones in Syria Because They Have Every Reason To Be

More Israeli propaganda. Russian bases came under attack by 13 small drones. Russia destroyed and or jammed most with minimal damage. Israel fails to shoot down large slow, high flying rockets from Hamas regularly and could not shoot down a Russian drone that infiltrated its airspace.

Israeli fails to down the occasional cheap rocket and drone=Israel stonk, Russia repelles swarms of armed drones=Russia sucks.

Just the other day Israeli failed to intercept a rocket:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/rocke...uthern-israel-residents-report-hearing-blast/

270 rockets breached Israeli:

https://www.haaretz.com/whdcMobileS...e-palestinians-killed-bus-destroyed-1.6650643

Israel made 3 attempts to shoot down this drone and fails:

https://www.haaretz.com/amp/israel-...t-mistakenly-flew-drone-into-israel-1.5421507

While Russia destroyed all these drones:

IMG_3115.JPG

But again Russia suck, Israel stronk!

Well the drone type that destroyed 3 Pantsirs was a pretty small drone as well. And when the Pantsir tried to resist with missiles, they just flew like bees to random directions.

Congratulations Israeli launched thousands of attacks against Syria, managed to lose an F-16, destroyed a few empty Pantsirs and hit a few dozens mostly empty sheds and hangers. Israelis can be proud, it makes them feel less salty after failing to shoot down thousands of Hamas rockets.

Empty Pantsirs/radar not working.

Don't waste your time, Israelis here are morons and propagandist, another moron here claimed the radio command missiles in the Pantsirs are outdated and limited in range, he claimed that 20km is too far. He claimed the Pantsir can't physically have missiles with 20km range--he claimed Russians are lyers. Little did the moron know is that radio command is used for space applications, in some cases sending signals millions of miles away. Even Indians recently developed a medium range air defense system that uses radio command.

Israelis here are shameless liars that will blatantly make up lies and refuse to acknowledge losing a dabate despite being debunked with credible sources. They are only good at lying and trolling. Moral of the story, is there are hundreds of such instances where the Israelis here make up stupid lies.

@ptldM3

Yes , its sad jew calling Russians "vatniks", the same nation that crushed Hitlers soldatesca, being infamous for exterminating jews

But regardless, being empty with missiles or without a crew, this development with destroyed Pantsirs is worrying

Pantsirs guns are useless in this scenario

Russia should come up with the solutions against the drones such is Harop and missiles such is Dalilah in the terminal flight phase ASAP

Maybe Sosna could be useful here. But there should be artillery system setting metal storm shield upon Pantsir, S 300, radars ....

That is because those "Jews" are Gulpniks that fled Eastern Europe because of money laundering, drugs, extortion and so fourth many of them were traintors during WW2 and or cowards that fled the fighting.

But yes, we are vatniks, my uncle destroyed 7 Nazi tanks and gave his life to protect his fellow soldiers and all people including jews of course he could have just fled like a coward too. It's also interesting that Russians liberated Jews from concentration camps; moreover, thousands of educated Russian engineers and scientists came to Israel and improved the country. In return we are bombarded with racial slurs by people that could not build a wheel without importing foreigners.

The skyceptor!?...,I doubt that very, very much. For a start the skyceptor is not a drone, its a short ranged hit to kill sam,in fact from a technical/design perspective you could call the missile an israeli pantsir[lol!].So it had nothing to do with the attacks on the syrian pantsirs.
This is the skyceptor.

The delilah was probably the one used in a lot of these attacks as its quite small and has the ability to be updated in real time by a man in the loop

There is also a possibility judging from the apparent limited damage in a pic taken after the first[?] attack on a pantsir, that a harpy or harop drone was used on a target of opportunity. We can see from this picture that the pantsir was non operational at the time and had expended all of its sams. The damage that can be seen in the pic appears to be confined to the front of the vehicle with the operators cabin and the truck cab taking the bulk of the damage.

Yes,the 2 guns arent really enough except as purely last ditch weapons.A better option for very close defence would be something along the lines of a shilka or better yet something like a phalanx/goal keeper/ak630 mounted on a separate vehicle, another option would be something like the iranian mesbah 1,which is a flak zwilling type system mounting 8 cannons,4x2 barreled 23mm cannons, with its own radar/optical system. The problem with larger calibers is the rate of fire they can produce tho they do have longer range and pack more punch, also guided shells start to become an option tho these are very, very expensive, but then again you would need far fewer of them to do the job.

You are debating a metal midget that is only capable of repeating the words "Pantsired". He knows nothing and is lying like other Israelis here.

That drone is actually an E95M, its smaller and faster then the Harop and Pantsirs regularly destroy those drones. Literally thousands of Hamas drones hit Israel. These Israeli girls are just salty that their air defense systems are garbage.

Here are the rockets Israels can't shoot down. Large, high altitude and slow rockets.

I am sorry friend, I meant SkyStriker drone. It was no Harop, and no Harpy, nor was it a Delilah, it was the SkyStriker.

It's a small, cheap drone will all the capabilities you've mentioned.

One ACTIVE Pantsir was clearly attenpting to resist by firing missiles, and clearly missed everything.

If 30mm cannons are so bad against drones, why 4 Pantsirs fired with them as if they thought they could? Now the Pantsir is humiliated once again!

Time for Syria to get powerful and use them around its air defences..

They're actively jamming but that didn't seem to work on Israeli drones!!

Clearly those Pantsirs can't, you manlet Vatnik

Golpnik, the US complained Russian forces have jammed and disabled the most modern US electronic warfare aircraft over Syria. Don't flatter yourselve to think some cheap Israeli RC toy has better jamming protection then the most modern US EW aircraft when under electronic attack. Armania has also downed many Harops, Russia has also shot down various other Israeli drones including over Georgia.

Israeli stronk

IMG_3122.JPG

IMG_3123.JPG

Israel uses mountains over the Golan and Lebon to hid from Syrian air defenses, which are themselves ancient and mostly designed to hit high altitude targets. When there is no mountains to shield from attacks Israeli drones fail miserably---case in point Israeli drones operated by Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Instead of bragging about destroying two empty Pantsirs and boasting how Pantsirs suck worry about thousands of Hamas rockets landing in Israel, or maybe invest in a proper bomb shelter because mighty Israel air defense systems are pitifully unreliable.

270 cheap rockets breached Israeli airspace in this instance:

https://www.haaretz.com/whdcMobileS...e-palestinians-killed-bus-destroyed-1.6650643

Case in point, Israeli SAMs have been unreliable, Russian systems have at least shot down sophisticated missiles, drones and small mortars. There is a world of difference between a small Harop and a giant Hamas rocket that is 6.3 meters (20 feet) long.
