36 aircrafts and 7 Helicopters for BD Armed forces

sir, your old enough member on this Forum and might went though JFT Threads, The Aircraft itself is good enough 4 Gen and no need to be explained what it comes with or offered and what is not offered and what are it's limitation. Mig-29 has its own limitation being gas guzzler short legged for its self and for any extended maritime ops BD would definitely require in the future a couple of Air Refuellers. Malaysian have tons of money they rejected Mig-29s figure out why so. Regardless whether the future is Flankers or Fulcrums they would be downgraded than indian variants be assured. As you said it don't meet BAF requirements but could you enlighten us does a downgraded Flanker/Fulcrum would meet requirement because anything you get from russians would be discussion with your bordering neighbor namely hindustan, it has been like for ages they are critically important ally of russians. Another Question would an aircraft low cost along with all the armament BAF requires be a better option or an aircraft whose source codes for radar/weapons could be provided to hindustan in any conflict is a better option?.. There is absolutely no credible information if FC-1 or Pak variant JF-17 has ever been offered and will not be offered due to the current regime it is not BAF that rejects it, the fact is it has not been offered at all the whole talk is "lets say" a waste of time. The only option BAF has is Flanker/Fulcrum on the Chinese side they play safe you might not get hold of J-10 ever before you are asked to buy FC-1s to replace a few F-7s that is how market is, no easy cake.

I think you are being defensive here.

The Indians already have aircraft like the SU-30MKI and look like they will be inducting the Rafale as well. BD needs aircraft that would be able to hold their own against planes like this in the unlikely event that the two air-forces ever go to war.

A more likely scenario would be a clash between BD and Myanmar. The Su-30 would be very useful to support the BD Navy against the Myanmarese due to it's long range and heavy weapons load

The perfect combination of aircraft currently would be the Su-30/J-10B.

The Russians may not sell us a version of Su-30 as capable as what India has but the real point is that BD could not afford more than 50-60 million a copy anyway, so fancy features like AESA radar would not be on the table anyway

The J-10B may not be sold by China right now but the Chinese have already sold the MBT-2000 tank to BD. When the J-20 comes into service in a few years, then it is quite possible that China would be willing to sell the J-10B to BD. With it's AESA radar and PL-21D ramjet missiles it would be easily hold it's own against any plane in the Indian inventory.

It is a moot point whether Pakistan would be willing to sell the JF-17 to BD as the plane does not fit BD's needs at all.

Dear..f***ked these BD people who want to forget their burned *** before Independence...and want to change their history...and real friend during crisis time....India...

Seems, it burns your own *** whenever you hear about military purchase by BD. Suppa pawa India has nothing to worry about our small-scale arms purchase because it is only for defense.

I believe you perceived my post wrongly, BAF has the right to buy from whom ever they want whatever they want, rejecting any aircraft they want but the Fact is FC-1 [or for the fact JF-17] has not been offered at all so the talk that it is not up to the requirements is a pointless discussion. Therefore its not about being defensive, it is a confirmed news Egypt was interested in FC-1 [however the current situation either financial or political] they backed out of are delaying and according to them it initially fullfills their requirements. I respect your aspirations to see BAF equipped with best weapons of War but J-10B is equal to Typhoons sophisticated piece of equipment a pride for China again you might get it but not before you accept some FC-1s this happened numerous times with Pakistan wanting various arms but Chinese demanded Pak buys a few of X-Y-Z before the ones. Again what is the real doctrine and does force multiplier means anything to BAF or not. Lastly about J-10B you are talking future in a speculative manner lets be realistic and I can only think of Fulcrum or Flankers [you might have read my past posts i pointed towards Flankers] downgraded version, FC-1 never offered nor being approached for by BAF.

Frankly i think if there will be any conflict anytime soon in the future involving Bangladesh, it wont be with india but with smaller south-east asian states over economic interests. Mostly protection of EEZ or maybe offshore oil fields contested by many.

Although it might seem Bangladesh is nothing to the world/india but india can't just run over Bangladesh this time it will have to face UN specifically China and also we would find out soon enough by that time what russia's reaction would be the intention would be known by then. The best course of action for Bangladesh is to improve modernize at a normal pace as economy improves and refer to all problems/conflicts in the UN and make noise about it, powerful at diplomacy is the key to win and make allies.

EEZ or offshore oil fields are contested by two neighbors- india and Myanmar. It's been resolved with Myanmar last year, now with india it awaits verdict from UNCLOS in 2014. With india be it land or sea simply there are problems with neighbors like one Bangladeshi island South Talpatti is illegally occupied by india. What you meant by South-East Asian nations isn't clear to me...we have only these two neighbors.

Okay you answered it...i was too referring to Myanmar. Good to know it's been resolved! Bangladesh is in a relatively good position with little external pressures. Thats quite similar to being Switzerland in Europe :P

South-East asia is a quite peaceful region despite disagreements and disputes. Not much military action seen. But a disturbing trend is beginning to show up with US-China tussle for influence in SE Asia...due to which countries are aligning themselves with either one. How is Bangladesh posturing itself? Looks to me as leaning towards China just like Sri Lanka.

I should have used the term "not suitable" for BD rather than "not advanced enough".

For Pakistan, FC-1 delivers a very capable fighter for the cost and would be able to counter Indian Mirage-2000s and maybe the Mig-29s as well. With constant upgrades then it should stay competitive

BD needs two kinds of air platforms:

1. A heavy fighter that will be useful in Naval Engagements in the Bay of Bengal and so the Su-30 perfectly fits the needs.

2. An advanced 4th generation air-superiority fighter that India cannot easily counter and the J-10B is perfect for this.

While there is no guarantee, when taking into account finance and political considerations I think that there is a good chance that the J-10B would be in the BD airforce in the latter part of this decade.

Yak 130 is a competent little jet in it's own right: training aside, it can perform light-attack and reconnaissance duties, carrying a combat load of 3,000 kg consisting of various guided and un-guided weapons, auxiliary fuel tanks and electronics pods on a total of 9 hardpoints. Wondering if these may be units ordered by Syria, the delivery of which were postponed.

I referred you to my old posts that I mentioned BAF is more into Flankers and Fulcrum, neither FC-1 nor J-10A/B has been offered at all. hindustan will be able to counter any and all say future Flankers since their Mig-29s and later "Rafales" and Flankers are highly modernized and under modernization program, sending in combination of Rafales/Mig-29 and or Flankers would end the Job, their doctrine is to over whelm the adversary in that case a few BAF Flankers/Fulcrums would crumble.

But interestingly as mass production of J-10B starts and inducts in PLAF sometimes in 2020 not far 6 years from now upgraded refurbished J-10As would be best choice next to J-10B, there is no doubt J-10A can heavily be upgraded with better radar/ew suite etc but still it depends on Chinese decision makers to sell/offer.
