34 arrested for trespassing on metro bus track

ISLAMABAD: The police have arrested 34 persons for trespassing on the newly constructed metro bus tracks, police said here on Friday.
The capital administration has imposed a ban on plying vehicles, presence of people on the tracks and its adjacent green areas.
The arrest was made over the violation of the ban and in this regard separate cases were registered at Industrial Area and Kohsar police stations under PPC 188.
The police said that a gathering of 30 people assembled at the track near Potohar Station and staged protest and chanted slogans against the government. In response the police made efforts to arrest them and succeeded to catch 25 persons while others escaped.
Later they were shifted to police station for further legal action and put behind the bars.
Similarly, a large number of people gathered at the green belt, adjacent to the tracks near Saudi Pak Town Blue Area, the police said, adding besides, people in groups also waling on the tracks.
In response the police reached there and arrested nine of them and the rest were allowed to go after a warning, they added.
Later, the arrested persons were taken to Kohsar police station for legal action.
