PNS Behr Paima, it will stay for now. The ship have been upgraded continuously and have up-to-date survey equipment onboard. This is an addition ship with increase EEZ and additional activity in westward waters kept in mind.

A contract for this ship was signed with Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industries (China) last year. In June/July 2017.

No info was give on the type of ship the pic of ship I have posted. Do you think this ship is type 363 A?

Not aware of a Type 363A to be honest, not sure if it is a Chinese Class of Ocean Survey Ship either.

And no information was detailed, i just happen to know that a contract for some survey ship was signed last year and now that it have been launched, it is LIKELY to be the same one.

Pakistan Navy survey ship unveiled in China

ISLAMABAD: A 3,000 tonne survey ship prepared by Pakistan Navy was unveiled in China’s Yang Zong where it was put afloat in River Yangtze.

It is the most advanced survey ship made by Pakistan Navy which will enhance the scope of marine research in the country.

The vessel was made with the joint cooperation of Pakistan and China.

The survey ship will also provide services related to operations of water search and locating positions.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Naval Overseas Commodore Asaf Humayun, who was the special guest for the ceremony, said the new survey ship even in uncommon conditions has the additional capability of carrying out operations.

He also said that the ship also carries the most advanced survey equipment which adds to the abilities of the Pakistan Navy to carry out a geographical survey.

The special guest commended the Best Way group and Dogen Shipyard and those people associated with the project for completing the important milestone of launching the project on time.

The vessel is under construction at Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industries Company Limited China and is the largest survey vessel to be built for Pakistan Navy under Sino-Pak collaboration.

Once completed, the new ship will be one of the most technologically advanced survey vessels of Pakistan Navy and will strengthen Pakistan's marine scientific research capability while providing flexibility to carry out underwater search and localization operations.

Earlier, Chairman of the Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, Zhan Jin Feng welcomed the chief guest and highlighted significance of the project. He expressed his resolve to complete the project in stipulated time to satisfaction of Pakistan Navy. National anthems of both the countries were played on the occasion. After national anthems the ship was launched by the chief guest and Chairman Bestway Group.

The ceremony was attended by Chen Botao, Deputy Mayor of Yang Zhong Municipal People's Government, Bill Chen, Vice President of Bureau Veritas (BV) Society in China, Hang You Bing, General Manager Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, Ma Shixiong, President of Bestways Marine & Energy Technology company, Cdr (Retd) Shahzad Amir General Manager Aeroton, Pakistan Navy officials and representatives from local government.

The 3000-tonne Survey Ship is 80.8 m in length, equipped with state-of-the-art survey equipment and has an endurance of 50 days operation at sea. After completion of harbour and sea acceptance trials, the survey vessel will join Pakistan Navy Fleet by August 2019.
