3 brothers ‘involved’ in Peshawar blasts held

Bureau Report

PESHAWAR, July 27: Police on Friday claimed to have busted a terrorist gang of three brothers and seized explosive devices. Addressing a press conference, City Police chief Abdul Majeed Marwat said that the arrested people were allegedly involved in various cases of bomb explosions in Peshawar.

He said they were arrested from the Ring Road area while travelling in a car (No IDG-4819).

During search the police found two kilograms explosive materials from the secret cavities of the car, Mr Marwat said, adding that the arrested people were real brothers and had been living in Waliabad locality in the jurisdiction of Pishtakhara police station.

Mr Marwat claimed that the gang were planning to plant explosive devices at some important buildings like Deans Trade Centre, State Bank, State Life Building. The police had seized various photographs from their possession, he added.

The police chief claimed that the gang was working at the behest of a neighbouring country’s intelligence agency on payment.

Mr Marwat said the arrested people had confessed involvement in various sabotage activities including two bomb explosions at the Peshawar bus terminal.

The arrested people were identified as Imtiaz, Ayaz and Bahadar. Ayaz is an employee of a match factory while Imtiaz is a property dealer.

The police chief said the arrest could help the police in nabbing some other wanted people, including killers of three Chinese nationals who were killed at a CNG workshop on the Charsadda Road.

Mr Marwat was flanked by SSP Operations Mohammad Tahir Khan.

If so many are saying as u mentioned there must be truth to it. Ever thought about that!!!

And the Jews were put in pogroms, subjected to genocide and holocaust because "so many people" believed the Jews were "the cause of all evil" in this world. Since "so many people" were "saying" that "Jews were evil", do you think there was truth to it, and therefore were the pogroms and holocaust justified?

I assume by "so many" you mean many of the Germans then including Hitler himself who was the motivation and also disgusted with himself for he was half jewish. This not intelligent comparison by any means. It no way compares to 5 countries accusing Pakistan of terriorism including CHINA!!!

If you are ashamed of admitting it then there is no point dragging the conversation any futher.

Well, China isnt accusing Pakistan of terrorism, just that they need better protecting. The government of Afghanistan is accusing the government of Pakistan as is the Bharat government and that's probably the biggest difference. The case of China would probably be more equal to the Burmese insurgents crossing over into Assam, but the Burmese government doesnt support them. The Iranians I dont think are accusing the Pakistani government but the media attention is more for Pakistan I would say. Bharat is surrounded by Pakistan, Bangladesh, China with which it doesnt have friendly relations with. At some point or other all these governments have accused Bhart of terrorism. It's not important though, it's all down to media exposure, allies, and bias.

Anti-Jew attitude was not only a trait of Hitler but many western nations

What are you rambling about? I was simply pointing out a logical fallacy you committed by stating that "If so many are saying as u mentioned there must be truth to it". I gave the analogy of the persecution of the Jews. One could argue that they were hated and persecuted because "so many people" continued to irrationally accuse them of being "evil". I am not even contesting the claims of those countries, at this point. Just pointing out to you that your argument is a logically fallacious one. It even has a "name":

Argumentum ad numerum:

This fallacy is closely related to the argumentum ad populum. It consists of asserting that the more people who support or believe a proposition, the more likely it is that that proposition is correct. For example:

"The vast majority of people in this country believe that capital punishment has a noticeable deterrent effect. To suggest that it doesn't in the face of so much evidence is ridiculous."

Adux:

Anti-Jew attitude was not only a trait of Hitler but many western nations

Thank you, that was my point. Pogroms were instituted against the Jews going back several centuries by many different nations and peoples. The one thing that was common to all of them was a general mistrust and dislike of the Jews that I caricatured into the statement "All Jews are evil".

The neighbouring enemy countries are taking full advantage calculating the internal situation of Pakistan and Neoconist threats to US. A simple analysis of the bombings happening in pakistan one can come to a clear conclusion that whatever is happening has a wide spread involvement of various forces. If there is involvement of extrimists from Tribal areas to revenge the killings of there children lost their life in Lal Masjid, then there are other forces which are involved in killing Chinese and attacking masjid in Kohat so as to achieve various targets in one go and take Pakistan toward as much destruction as possible.

Let me quote Asma Jehangir

"I dont know why Indians love Musharraf so much, I only ask them.. are you from caves"
Indians doing anything to destabilize Musharaf is nothing but a dream of the mullah's

Any police chief who fails in his duty always has to find scapegoats since he cannot catch the goats!

There is no doubt that Musharraf has done more for good relationship with India as a President than any other PM of Pakistan.

So many people of the same background ( germans) said so, unlike whats been said of Pakistanis.

I've noticed this about some of you guys. Your counter arguments miss the whole point of the argument. To summarize, the argument was that just because 100 people say something, it doesnt mean it's true, the example given was the Third Reich and Jews. So to counter this, one bright spark says "oh no, but your situation is different because those were millions of people and not governments of countries" Perhaps we're delving into negative IQs here, but this counter does not address the point, that the majority of people or governments or whoever can be wrong. If you want to pursue this line of uselessness, the example of WMD supposedly in Iraq could easily be given.

But anyway, since when was Karzai so many people, or the Mullahs of Iran so many people? Has there been a return to full democracy in Iran? And I dont think you can include China in your list.
