বাসে আগুনের চেষ্টা, ছাত্রলীগের ৩ নেতা-কর্মী আটক


মাগুরা শহরের পারনান্দুয়ালি কেন্দ্রীয় বাস টার্মিনাল এলাকা থেকে ছাত্রলীগের তিন নেতা-কর্মীকে আটক করেছে পুলিশ। তাঁরা বাসে আগুন ধরানোর চেষ্টা করছিলেন বলে নিশ্চিত করেছে পুলিশ। আজ বুধবার রাত পৌনে আটটার দিকে তাঁদের আটক করা হয়।

আটককৃত ব্যক্তিরা হলেন, জেলা ছাত্রলীগের ধর্মবিষয়ক সম্পাদক সাজ্জাদ মোল্লা (২৪), ছাত্রলীগকর্মী লিমন (২২) ও রানা (১৯)। তাঁদের কাছে পেট্রলভর্তি দুটি বোতল ও দিয়াশলাই পাওয়া গেছে।

পুলিশ সূত্রে জানা যায়, রাত পৌনে আটটার দিকে বাস টার্মিনালের পাশে ঢাকা-খুলনা মহাসড়কে চলাচলকারী গাড়িতে পেট্রল ছুড়ে আগুন ধরিয়ে দেওয়ার চেষ্টা করছিলেন ওই তিন যুবক। এ সময় পুলিশ তাঁদের হাতেনাতে আটক করে।

জানতে চাইলে মাগুরা পুলিশ সুপার জিহাদুল কবীর ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে প্রথম আলোকে বলেন, তাঁদের কাছে মাম ব্রান্ডের পানির বোতলে ভরা পেট্রল এবং সঙ্গে দিয়াশলাই পাওয়া গেছে। এটিকে পেট্রল বোমা বলা ঠিক হবে না। পেট্রল বোমা কাচের বোতলে তৈরি করা হয়। এর সঙ্গে আগুন ধরানোর সলতে থাকে। তিনি বলেন, আটক নেতা-কর্মীদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে।

রাত ১০টার দিকে এ প্রতিবেদন লেখা পর্যন্ত মাগুরার অতিরিক্ত পুলিশ সুপার মিজানুর রহমান, সহকারী পুলিশ সুপার সুদর্শন রায়, সদর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) এম এ হাসেমসহ পুলিশ কর্মকর্তারা আটক নেতা-কর্মীদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করছিলেন।

মাগুরার সহকারী পুলিশ সুপার (সার্কেল) সুদর্শন রায় বলেন, সাজ্জাদ, লিমন ও রানাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে। তিনি বলেন, নাশকতা সৃষ্টিই তাঁদের উদ্দেশ্য ছিল।

ওই তিন ছাত্রলীগকর্মীকে পুলিশ হেফাজতে নিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করার কথা স্বীকার করেছেন জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সভাপতি শেখ রেজাউল ইসলাম। তিনি বলেন, মোটরসাইকেলে ব্যবহারের জন্য তাঁরা পেট্রল কিনে নিয়ে যাচ্ছিলেন। তিনি এই প্রতিবেদককে ভালো করে জেনে-শুনে ওই ব্যাপারে প্রতিবেদন করার পরামর্শ দেন।

জেলা ছাত্রলীগের সাধারণ সম্পাদক মীর মেহেদী হাসান বলেন, ‘পেট্রলবোমাসহ জেলা ছাত্রলীগের ধর্মবিষয়ক সম্পাদক সাজ্জাদ মোল্লা ও ছাত্রলীগকর্মী লিমন ও রানাকে পুলিশ আটক করেছে বলে শুনেছি। বিষয়টি দুঃখজনক।’

Once I saw that Inpenedent TV anchor (forgot the name) was strongly protecting the Jubo Kutta League leader who was caught red handed while demolishing Shaheed Minar in Bogra saying that his superior party leader already said that he lost his mental control just 3 days ago so there's no point debating on this.

Much of their handywork were in fact done by Shibir activists. Though, AL activists doing them, and putting blame on opposition activists has happened before. The BNP very rarely do such stuff. Much of a vandalism throughout history were carried out by the AL and Jamaat. The BNP are in a way a party of "gentlemen" (no pun intended).

Burning public transport loaded with innocent people is not the way to gain support for one's cause. In fact, this is common sense.
