25-Year-Old Indian Woman Tortured to Death in Saudi

A 25-year-old Indian woman who went to work to Saudi Arabia was allegedly tortured to death. The woman identified as Asima Khatoon hailed from Hyderabad and was working as a maid in Saudi. She was reportedly kept there illegally after her visa expired.

Her family has claimed that she had complained to them about being harassed mentally and physically. Asima had, in a phone call a few weeks back, requested her family to rescue her and make arrangements for her return.

The Telangana government had written to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at the behest of the deceased's family to rescue her from her employer and repatriate her back to Hyderabad.



"She went there and she was assaulted there. She was kept in a room, they did not feed her. She told me she has been tortured and she asked me to bring her back at any cost," Asima family members say.

Telangana Police has written to Saudi authorities seeking details of her death. "She went there for work. She worked there for 4 months but thereafter she developed some health issues. We don't have confirmation about the incidents. We have written a letter to Saudi consulate by secretariat on behalf of state government," Inspector Ramesh said.

It's a very bitter pill to swallow but thats the truth.. Saudi Arabia is a blotch on humanity(I may get a ban for stating this, PDF have a exclusive policy when it comes to anything Saudi for some reason) and other places in the Gulf with a little less inhumanity

And these countries you mention keep sending their women in to slavery or even worse torture and murder.. Poverty is the excuse but politicians getting fat pockets in terms of foreign remittances for they can live off public funds is the real reason.. They will never enact a ban against sending women to this hell hole

Few months ago me and my friend were going to another friend's house late night. When we were entering his house we heard someone jumped inside the wall of his house. when we get there we saw a crying maid. we asked her what happened and all but she couldnt speak Arabic urdu or english and we cudnt understand what shez saying.. she was constantly crying .We werent even sure which country she belonged to so we called the police. We thought police will take her in. But when they arrived they told the Saudi guy that If she will run away from the house again they will arrest him. like really Wtf...My friend's father told us that it is not the first time she ran away from that house. Saudi government should do something about it. This is totally inhumane and unIslamic act.They should treat those Saudis like criminals. Its really shameful we couldnt help her but If i ever saw someone like this again I will make sure she goes to her embassy instead of police station.

Why blame only saudis,,,i have seen loads of guys opting to go to gulf then slogging it here.
most cudve have managed it here if they really wanted,,,but they want more paisa,,,so much so that they sell thr land,property,small business all for a life in gulf.they shudve known what they r getting into.
