24 former PML-Q parliamentarians, nazims join PTI
Published: November 17, 2011
LAHORE: At least two dozen former Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MPAs, MNAs and nazims announced they were joining the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday.
PTI chairman Imran Khan welcomed the former PML-Q parliamentarians and party workers decision. Khan said anyone could join his party, but party tickets would only be given to those who sincerely declare their assets, Express 24/7 reported.
Khan also said that the establishment cannot control the PTI as it is driven by a vision and that his party is not an heirloom that his children would inherit.
The PTI chairman criticised the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and accused them of engaging in dynastic politics of give and take.
As reported earlier, the PTI Sindh leadership said that the former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will join Khans party soon. Qureshi is expected to make an official announcement during a rally being held in Kashmore on November 27.
