KARACHI: The Pakistan International Film Festival (PIFF) 2018 brought together luminaries belonging to the Indian and Pakistani film industry under one roof despite years’ long instability between the two countries.

The event being first of its kind saw some 22 artists and filmmakers from India, including Nandita Das and critically acclaimed filmmaker S.S.Rajamouli, setting foot on Pakistani soil after an extensive gap of many years.

The first panel discussion during the fourth and final day of PIFF today brought the topic ‘Films for Change: Socially Motivated Content in South Asian film’ in discourse, which had Indian filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, Pakistani director Jami, Nishtha Jain, drama producer Momina Duraid , ace scriptwriter Haseena Moin and various other celebrities as panellists.

Jamshed Mahmood Raza popularly known as Jami, is a film director. We are grateful for his presence in the panel discussion on films for change happening now!#PIFFkaScene #PIFF2018

Indian playback singer Rekha Bhardwaj, Ali Zafar, Asif Noorani, Sultan Arshad and Dr. Omer Adil were part of the day’s second discussion that revolved around the subject 'The Future of Music and Lyrics: How important is music in the subcontinental cinema.'

Ali Zafar is a Pakistani singer-songwriter, model and actor. He joined us today at the panel discussion on the future of music and lyric at Ziauddin College of Media Sciences.

The four-day affair that started on 29th March will conclude today, 1st April, with a star-studded gala night.

Ali zafar is Indian?

Channo is indian?

Na kar

Kabse bhai?

.
Good gesture by them.
To all the incoming butthurt lads, keep in mind that each time you say that there should be no artist exchange between the two countries you are literally EQUATING YOURSELF to Modi and his extremist dogs. You are becoming the same people you are cursing. Just food for thought.

. . . .
Never heard Any of them , obviously they were paid to go there

.
Please elaborate?

Its simple.

Whenever some Indian soldiers die in IOK or at LOC these idiots start whining about Pakistanis singers and actors working in India. That is nationalism for these jokers.

We should be better than that. While every act of aggression by India should be responded with full brutality and force we shouldn't stop anyone from visiting Pakistan if it doesn't harm us in some manner.

Our nationalism shouldn't be based on making singer and actors scapegoat. That is a cheap way to show patriotism in my opinion. Yeah if these 22 guys visiting Pakistan harms us in some manner then they shouldn't be allowed in.

Well,
I'm against any sort of indian content being allowed in Pakistan. Totally ban on degraded indian content...all movies, news etc and that applies to the artist level collaborations. We need to diversify our entertainment industry with collaborations from friendly countries like Turkey, Iran, China and others.

I understand what you are saying. And I am not in favor of Indian content either. However I am against banning someone from coming into Pakistan unless that individual is involved in some anti Pakistan activity or has any background like that.

These guys are just random directors and actor and they shouldn't made scapegoat to score a point on India. We are better than that.

Well, I'm still not comfortable but I see your point.

Appreciate the participants for their positive gesture to connect with our people from both sides.

Exactly...I agree with you point...In this entire banning episode, Pakistan has a moral upper hand for you...So do not fall into the trap of banning Indian artist for the sake that India does it...

We always do not do, what is exactly correct...So follow your good instinct and stick to your principle rather than following our acts which are not good...
