India seems to be going in the right track in order to revive sports in the country and if India manages to win the bid, the venue might well be Ahmedabad...:D

Sources close to The Tribune have confirmed the recent developments of a formal plan being worked upon to host the Games in Ahmedabad when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach, who is scheduled to visit India later next month in an official visit to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The dates are yet to be finalised but going by the reports, hosting the Olympic Games in 2024 will consume most part of the discussion between the two dignitaries.

Modi has already made it clear that he wants to work at the grassroot level to make India a powerhouse of sports and this certainly will be a great step towards that goal.

Sources also confirmed that sports secretary Ajit Mohan Sharan has already had a word and held discussions with key IOC officials in this regard and invited Bach to visit India in April. Sharan was in Lausanne, Switzerland, last week where the discussions took place.

Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal didn't confirm any such happenings, neither did IOA secretary general, Rajeev Mehta who said that he is not aware of any such happenings.

Brazil will host the 2016 Olympic Games while Japan's capital city Tokyo will play host to 2020 Summer Games. The 'Expression of Interest' to bid for 2024 Olympics has already started and India look to cash in without wasting any more time.

The other countries who have shown their interest and had already sent their bids to the IOC to host the Games are Italy's Rome, Germany's Hamburg and USA's city of Boston.

Kenya's Nairobi, Morocco's Casabianca, Qatar's Doha, France's Paris and Russia's St.Petersburg are all in contention to bid for the greatest sporting event of the world.

The National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will have to send the name of their 'Applicant Cities' to the IOC latest by September 15, 2015 to set the process in motion for hosting the Games.

Disaster? Lmao stupid lungi, apart from the controversy over accommodation the rest of the event was quite smooth. Stop living in denial that Bangladesh is a powerful country when you are a lungi toilet cleaner. Stop obsessing over us.

Dhoti Bihari you think we feel shame on Lungi. We feel proud on our Lungi. You have no toilet in the first place. And Hindu lower caste methors clean toilets. Its their job.

Keeping in mind Commonwealth game disaster no one will take these bids seriously. Show solid infrastructures ready made.

The only real problem CWG faced was the corruption cases, which was our internal matter. But the event itself was well executed and successful.

All the negative publicity over CWG before the event was a classic and ugly case of yellow journalism. Those "Unfit for human" athelete facilities turned out to be one of the best so far, check the feedback of the atheletes, those western media scums distributed photos of the temporary CWG workers' camps as the photos of the Game Village, intentionally. That article you posted also mentioned about poor security and terrorism, was there any terrorism in reality? The security turned out to be one of the highest in any event. All these yellow journalism led by the UK media vanished in thin air once the game started, none could claim the event to be a failure after it was complete.

However, this one is a duplicate thread, check this one: Narendra Modi pitches Ahmedabad for 2024 Olympics, to submit plan to IOC
