. . . .
It seems these protests are more about unemployment and economic disparity than hijab issue.

the meme usually comes with the caption: it's over, it's finally over
depend on what you think the protesters wanted , well I say both side get something . at least in big cities , they girls are far more generous with the amount on the hair shown than let say one month ago.
the government made big cities a lot calmer (but not all of the cities).

the problem is dissatisfaction in younger generation that if not answered in proper manner can lead to another episode of this

Add the usual ethnocentric element, of a old man trips over a soldiers foot in KP, out come the usual lar aur bar PTM afghani types

The Iranians have the same trouble with Kurds and Baloch and to a lesser extent Azeris, Arabs etc

Our whole region has these ethnocentric fault lines that out of sheer stupidity we can't get over

.
Hopefully the protests will grow and increase in strength. Those wannabe Arab Mullah’s need a taste of their own medicine. 1980-1988 is a bit long ago.

I hope regional powers and world powers can give them a taste of freedom, in any case whatever happens is positive news.

It's more important for Saudis to taste freedom from absolute monarchy. It's at least possible to protest in Iran, there is no possibility of protest in Saudi.

Why doesn't middle eastern countries assimilate groups? China assimilated dozens of ethnic groups and they are all Han Chinese now. Why doesn't Middle East Iranians or Turks do the same? It brings peace and prosperity

Why should they when they live better than 99.99% of all people on the planet? They are on average 10-15 times richer than the average Iranian.

You don't see any massive protests in KSA because there are no reasons to protest. Prior the only reasons were mainly based on societal and religious restrictions (if you were more liberal aligned) but even that segment MbS has made satisfied with the many recent reforms in the past 7 years.

Similarly you don't see any massive protests in Monaco, Lichtenstein and other stable, prosperous, rich and well-functioning states. That is why KSA and the GCC were largely completely immune to the "Arab Spring".

If anything history has shown repeatedly that Arabs, if they want to, are easily capable of removing their leaders. Probably proven right more than any other peoples in recent history.

One does not have to be a genius to realize this.

Anyway it is interesting how little talk there is about Iranian police grabbing/violating women protestors, killing young women, IRGC murdering 90 + Baloch people in Zahedan after Friday Prayers and the ongoing chaotic situation in Iran.

Whenever someone farts in KSA, it becomes front page news in comparison and is eagerly discussed. Talk about a "strange" phenomenon.

Anyway 100's of dead (some sources say 1000 +), billions of dollars lost etc. Whatever can weaken the Iranian Mullah's is good news for the region and dare I say Iran itself.

No, no, no!

The reason why there are no protests in Saudi Arabia is the gigantic, simply unbelievable amount of homosexuality in Saudi Arabia, because the Saudi society is THE most homosexual society in the world, where even homosexuals from liberal western societies prefer living in Saudi Arabia than in their own liberal western societies, where the vast majority of Saudi men und half of all Saudi women have regualarly sex with the same sex!

This out-of-the-world amount of homosexuality robs the Saudi people of any energy to protest!

Maybe because there is more to being human than eating the best, wearing the best, living in the best house? A well looked after cattle also eats well, lives in best houses.

Iranians have a far far better ruling system than any Arab country in the world, it's just a fact. The mere fact that they are protesting is a testament to that. They firstly as a nation have the ability to see far beyond "eating the best, wearing the best, living in the best house" and feel the need to protest against what they think is unjust; secondly they actually can and do protest. In other countries mere writing of articles in newspapers make them being cut into pieces by surgical bonesaw. Iran may have many faults and their mullah regime has room for great improvements but there is no comparison between their government and the Arab governments.
