Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry, says that 2021 will be the ‘game-changer’ year for Made in Pakistan devices and machines in the health sector.
“This year will be a game-changer year for Made in Pakistan devices and machines in the health sector. We, who did not even make our own syringes, will join the countries that make the most advanced machinery this year,” said Chaudhry in a tweet post on Thursday.
Chaudhry said that at least two international companies are about to set up their factories in Pakistan.

The minister had earlier asserted that Pakistan would be able to manufacture X-ray and dialysis machines within four to six months.
The sector under the leadership is galloping towards development at a faster rate. Back in September last year, he had criticized Pakistan’s local food and automobile industries for lagging behind global standards, failing to adopt modern technology, and incorporating and using it in industrial processes.
“China, Singapore, and Malaysia have all progressed by adopting modern technology,” said Chaudhry at a seminar ‘Gateway to Halal Accreditation for International Trade’. “We also must have to adopt modern technology,” said Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Science and Technology.
Chaudhry is looking forward to sweeping digitization in all the sectors in Pakistan.
He lambasted the local automobile industry for its backwardness and said they will not let Pakistan’s auto industry cut itself off from the world. They must also make cars on world standards, he said.

The minister added that the automobile industry must give up the idea of developing and relying on the government’s help alone. “The government’s job is not to do business. It can only facilitate the private sector,” he said. He further said that Pakistan must make lithium batteries, which are used in making electric vehicles.
