Turkey hosts 3.5-4 million refugees. Regardless of what one may think of Turkey's action in Syria, it is commendable.

I have serious doubts about Erdogan's claim that they can be resettled in areas in Northern Syria under Turkish control. At most a few hundred thousand may be resettled. Rest won't leave Turkey unless forced.

Since the outbreak of the Syrian Civil War in 2011 and its spread to Iraq, millions of others are estimated to have crossed from Turkey to Europe and other destinations, especially during the height of the refugee influx in 2015.
