Would you be surprised to know that there were times where we invited PLAN warship to come aboard ? Don't be surprised to know that there were times where we even did passing exercises .

There is a strict honor code between JMSDF and PLAN. You would know this if you served in the military , Gen.

well the 055 could be called a cruiser or a Destroyer, since it's bigger than ticonderoga class, yet the Zumwalt is a Destroyer, so however one calls it, is fine.

Personally Cruiser sounds better, so it's a cruiser.

It is a cruiser. Anything above 9000 tonnes is cruiser.

Technically the Atago class (9800 tonnes) is considered a cruiser.

But the Type 055 will outclass the Atago, she will be at least 2000 tonnes heavier.

And will be bristling ........

Future... type052D building will more than type055 ... cheaper, current speed is 2x each year in both JN and DaLian shipyards. Here we didn't see type052D building stop ...

Impressive formation of ships being constructed, buddy! Every year the maritime capabilities of China increases, every year we will have to learn to adapt and cooperate with China so that peace and stability continues to be maintained. It's a development of mature relationships that I always look at, as in sure we all yearn for.

Navy anti-sub will depend on these cheaper type056/A fleets.

You guys are popping them out like candy! And here we are slowly building just 2 new Atago class.

The speed of China 's construction capability and breadth cannot be ignored.

This is going to be a major reason for both our sides to work together and not rub on for friction.

It is also going to help China be much less afraid of Japan's SDF. Or make Beijing more assertive against Japan. Interesting on what the military balance of power will be between China and Japan by 2019 (the PRC's 70th Anniversary). I look forward to it.

BTW, mature of QC-280 gas turbine engine is the main reason that we start to mass produce warship now.

I don't think US able to produce enough LM2500 gas turbine engines to Japan to match PLAN.
(also radar and missiles).
