2011 year of Indian Defence Aviation Sector
Lot of activities have been going on over this years for the development of Various aircraft’s , But things seems to be finally falling in place and 2011 will be the year of development and official start of various Aircraft’s projects in India . below are some of the Projects which will kick start officially in year 2011 .
MTA : After hectic negotiations and various difference with the Russians , project will finally take off from 2011 onwards and work on design and development will start , MTA aircraft will be replacing An-32 aircraft in service with both Air forces , India and Russia are equal partners in the aircraft design and development and the first flight has been planned in 2017 .
Tejas MK-II : With selection of new engines already been done , development phase of the Next Generation Tejas will also officially start in year 2011 ,Tejas MK-II design changes and Critical modification to the Fuselage , Wings , Air intake has been already done in CAD . and the development of aircraft will start officially and negotiation for the engine with Ge will also be done in the same year .first flight is expected in year 2016 and production will start in 2018 onwards.
AMCA : Most important Project which Indian Psu will be taking in this decade will be Design and development of Countries 5th generation aircraft , While Proposal for the funds to AMCA will come only in mid of 2011 ,but ADA has already working on critical components and looking into ASR issued by IAF . this will be most important development activity that India will take and success of this project will enable India to be in selected group of countries which have technology to develop a 5th Generation fighters on their own .First flight is expected by 2017-18 but realistic time frame seems like 2020 .
FGFA : India and Russia will also be designing and developing a new 5 th Generation aircraft based on Pak-FA for the Indian air force , HAL will be the doing 30 % of the design work on the aircraft and agreement for the aircraft have already been done and work on Indian version will start from 2011 year onwards Indian version will take of by 2016 and will enter service into IAF by 2020 .
