During a visit to Pakistan in December 2010, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao and his Pakistani counterpart jointly announced the year 2011, which marks the 60th anniversary of China-Pakistan diplomatic ties, as the "China-Pakistan Friendship Year," and said that the two countries would carry out a series of activities to celebrate the friendship year.

The cultural exchanges between the two countries further expanded and the civil foundation for the friendship between the two countries has become solider.
