200 km trains introduced from Mumbai to Goa

Not convinced that the extra energy consumed by a higher speed is compensated by the saving in time.
India should not go for a govt subsidised model like chinas.
yes ,indeed,HSR will need a lot of investment,no one like to bear losses or high fares without govt subsidised.
but I dont anderstand why the govertment of india cant to provide subsidised for its people,to improve people's quality of life. it is a democracy ,isnt it?dont people want to improve their standard of living in india?

But it is better than an average Indian train with an average of 50 Km per hour.

Indian Railways has too many problems at hand:

There is serious question raised about the safety of the passengers as the infrastructure on which semi-high speed trains are running may not be able to run at such high speeds, for example it is preferred to run these trains on 60 kilogram tracks but now they are running on 52 kilogram tracks

The exterior design (unlike that spanish Taglo which has obvious aerodynamic design to support 200+km/h) does not seem to support 200km/h, more like 140-160km/h.
I am not sure if they have done any test on a real 200+km/h railway before. @anant_s Any comment?

Usually for a 200km/h railway of 579km, it takes about 4-5 hours with 7-8 stops.
It means the average speed (even considering time for stops) is around 130-150km/h.
The price costs around 1600 rupees.

Talgo has advantage of taking curves at higher speeds because of the way its wheels are mounted and can tilt.
This train is restricted to 160 km per hr.
The 2nd AC chaircar is 1400 rs with meals.

This is a well known fact to anyone who has basic knowledge of the international railway industry.
1400 rs is really expensive for such long time.

The point is from the outside of this train, it does not seem a high-speed car.
If untested, to claim a speed is unprofessional.
Even test speed cannot be used as operational speed.
CRH380A was tested at 480km/h, but we claim its operational speed is 350-380km/h.

This is a typical 200-250km/h design on a non-HSR 200km/h slow railway.

Well then, nothing they have got to prove that it has 200KMH speed. Period.
If they have a railway laboratory, they can claim lab speed.
In such lab in China, a car will be lifted, then the wheels will be tested.
Last time, they tested 600+km/h for our 350km/h trains.

That is to test for the maximum speed.
For average speed, depending upon number of stops, there is a mathematical formula.

The longest bullet train service from my city covers 2449km, 27 stops in total.
A similar 200km/h service which is comparable to the one mentioned in OP covers 567km, 8 stops, 4 hours 20min.

The trains and locos are suitable for 200 km per hr but the tracks and alignment is not.
For higher speeds the curves have to be minimized , while this konkan stretch is quite a scenic but difficult stretch.
The brits didnt build a meter here because of the terrain and it was built post independence by our metro man E Shreedharan.
Youtube has a nice video on the konkan railways.
This new train is different for the additional facilities being provided and not really for the speed.
I have checked your rail prices and 1400 rs matches your train prices for comparable service , while you dont provide meals.
A similar train runs on the same route and price is 900 rs for same time but no meals .
