Facebook is the world's most popular Social Networking website. People from every region and country use Facebook to connect with friends, advertise their products or service or to popularize their conventional and online businesses. Many people also use Facebook for Negative purposes. Most of the Facebook users are made fool by such people. Here are 20 things that every Facebook user must know.
1. Facebook is free and it will remain free in future. If someone asks to pay money for any service on Facebook than beware, it may be a fraud. If you want to advertise to Facebook then it will charge money as advertising charges. Otherwise it does not ask its user to pay money in any form.
2. You might have seen messages like "Your Click can save life of a person" or something like that. Remember your click will not cause benefit to any welfare scheme or project. It is just a way to get more likes on a Facebook page by emotional blackmailing.
3. Similarly, sharing a picture will never help any needy person. In a study it is concluded that by seeing that pattern of likes and shares of a person on Facebook, his/her personality can be predicted accurately. So, Think before you share
4. Sending Game Invitations to each and every friend on Facebook can be a killer idea. People are fed up with unwanted game invite notifications. They can unfriend you or will add you in a group with people to whom they connect rarely.
5. Never trust content that is generally published on Facebook. Everyone can design an image and post it on Facebook. There is a page namely Knowledge is Power. This page generally post against Muslims. Beware of such pages. Never trust and Hadith or a Health Tip before confirming it from other sources.
6. Some people share images of a women with her nose bleeding and caption image like " This women took more tablets of Vitamin C which caused to bleed her nose" but in fact such images are taken from a protest.
7. Tagging a Picture breaks security itself. If you share your personal picture abd Tagged it to a friend then all of the people in his/her friends list are able to see that picture. and If someone from them re-shared it then it goes viral. Take great care while tagging Pictures.
8. Expressing emotions extensively will cause to limit you friend's list. If you comment on a post where you extensively express your religious, racial or political views then people in your friends list who possess opposite views are more likely to delete you. So be moderate while commenting and expressing personal views.
9. Liking an image shared by yourself is a foolish idea. You liked it then you decided to share it they why to like it again?
10. Sometimes while cleaning an account people remove the person who is not much active on Facebook. But after sometime they realize and send them Friend request again which causes embarrassment.
11. One way to avoid such embarrassment is to make a separate group of such people who a) are not active on Facebook b) are not allowed to see most of the data you share.
12. If someone not accept your Friend request and it remain pending then it does not mean that the person does not like to make friends or he dislike you but it means that he does not want to share his personal data with you.
13. When sharing a post you ca limit the audience. Never forget to use privacy option while sharing personal pictures.
14. Avoid expressing emotions publicly. If you write something for your friend his/her family members may see it and he/she can get in trouble. Try to contact him/her directly instead.
15. Facebook security is indeed not much strong. If your personal or family's pictures are out on Facebook than its not Facebook's fault but its yours that what you choose to share on Facebook. So its upto you that how much you personal content you share on Facebook and how you utilize privacy option.
16. Never forget to LOG OUT of Facebook while leaving Facebook after using at any public computer. Hacking a Facebook account is much more problematic than hacking an email account because in former case hacker does have access to your friends' data alongwith yours.
17. If you are admin of a page then avoid expressing personal views and be neutral. People like what you post not your own personal opinions.
18. Facebook is a fastest source of sharing information. News are spread more quickly on Facebook than on Television and radio. So be a source to share positive information.
19. On Facebook you can become friends with a person living far away from you from different region, religion and culture. You can use Google Translator to chat with foreign friends. Facebook also give an option to translate that shared content if it is in a different language than yours.
20. If you have had a bad experience than go to that company's official page and post your complaint instead of blaming yourself by posting on your wall. Most of the high level companies run their official pages on Facebook connect, join those pages to connect directly to the company representatives.
Conclusion
Sorry to say that our people does not check the profiles of person they are adding on Facebook and people add female profile who looks fake at first instance. If a girl is adding you and she does not know you then check her profile, it might be a FAKE account. Similarly fake profiles of famous people like celebrities, Cricket and Football Stars, Journalists etc does exists on Facebook. Check them carefully before adding.
Apart from that Malware are a big problem on Facebook. These Malwares are spread in the form of Images and videos. The Image or video which do not have any relation with reality appears in front of you. You click on that suspicious image/video as you have not seen it before. Then it is automatically shared on the wall of your friends and becomes viral. Beware of clicking on strange links, images and videos. Otherwise you would have to face embarrassment. One girl got the same problem, whenever she log into her account a message were sent automatically to all her friends. She faced embarrassment when such messages (Malware) were also sent automatically to her University Teachers and i am a personal witness of it.
