For those who had lost their lives during Operation Atilla; you are not forgetten as it's what we do now in the northern beach of North Cyprus, "The Dawn Watch". Selam olsun benim Kıbrıs'ta savaşmış kardeşlerime. Selam olsun orda bayrak uğruna kan dökmüş Bahriyeli kardeşlerime.

. . .
We meant business back in those days.

Sinking of TCG Kocatepe was a tragic incident. Aselsan was founded and specialized on military communications so that it can never happen again.

.
Quick question; why do we currently keep M48s in Cyprus against the Greek T-80's?

. .
This operation was not occupation of cyprus like west is saying.

It was liberation of Turkish cypriots from greek military junta. And Turkeys actions was lawfully because Turkey was one of the three guarantors for the island.
The greek military junta made massacre on Turkish cypriots so Turkey had to intervene there.

Also today are greek blocking the unity of cyprus and play the innocent but more than 70% of Turkish cypriots said yes to annan plan while more than 70% of greek cypriots said no.
That shows who the innocent is.

Did Turkey face international condemnation for it's intervention? Were any sanctions imposed or UN resolutions?

Yes i remember that we had an weapon embargo but i dont know the details.
Like i said before Turkeys actions was lawfull, it was a guarantor of the island so it had to intervene to save Turkish cypriots.
The embargo was illegal.

Turkey being a guarantor for the Turkish Cypriots had the right to act. Besides from some condemnation, the U.S senate imposed a guns embargo between 1975 and 1978. The heroic act from Libya's side must be told(other arab countries helped too). They gave ammunition, 2,75 - 5 inch rockets and other military stuff free of charge to Turkey. When the soldiers were asked "didn't they ask something from you?", then airforce pilot Mehmet Senturk told; "No, they didn't ask anything back from us". A really touching story.. The U.S.A being Turkey biggest ally? My ***..

- United Nations Security Council Resolution No 360, 16 August 1974; formal disapproval of the unilateral military actions of Turkey against "Cyprus". (Note that in this resolution permanent member USSR, non-permanent members Iraq and Byelorussia were absent and permanent member China did not participate)
- United Nations Security Council Resolution No 367, 12 March 1975; unilateral declaration of a "Federated Turkish State". This one was adopted without vote
- United Nations Security Council Resolution No 541, 18 November 1983; proclaiming that the Turkish Cypriot UDI was illegal and requesting that no other sovereign state should recognize the legality of the declaration and asked for its withdrawal.(Note that only Pakistan was against this resolution as non-permanent member, and Jordan was absent during the voting process as non-permanent member)
- United Nations Security Council Resolution No 550, 11 May 1984; the Council condemned the illegal secessionist activities in "the occupied part" of the Republic of Cyprus from Turkey, in violation of the previous resolutions.( Again, Pakistan was against the resolution as non-permanent member, and United States was absent during the voting process as permanent member)

There are many more resolutions concerning Cyprus but these ones, imho, are the most important ones.

Your other part of the question; U.S. Congress imposed an embargo on arms sales to Turkey back then but the arms embargo was silently removed a few years later.
