15 Pakistani songs that left their mark on 2015
15-pakistani-songs-that-left-their-mark-on-2015-1450635755-6738.jpg

This is the list of the songs, covers sung by new singers that we liked or the absolutely lovable new singles by our favorite artists from 2015. And no way can we compare legendary singers like Farida Khanum, Mai Dhai, Suraiya Khanum or Ustad Hamid Ali Khan who lit up the Coke Studio stage and still keep making us skip a beat to the new comers. So the legends are not included in this list.

1. Shakar Wadaan Ve – Asrar

The celebratory song for every mehndi ceremony is a hit. This song has the power to uplift your mood whatsoever. It is a part of the music of the upcoming Mahira Khan starrer movie Ho Mann Jahaan. We think Asrar is definitely one of the top discoveries of 2015.
2. Neeray Neeray Vas – Soch band
Neray Neray Vas Full Audio Song l Dekh Magar Pyaar Say by Mooroo | Tune.pk
The song has a sick melody and the music is captivating. Enough said.

3. Kala Doriya – Soch feat Mehak Ali
The song is featured in the movie Dekh Magar Pyar Se. The song is a folk wedding song. And we all know it. But not like this…

4. Mast hua - Asrar
Asrar gave us the ‘mast’ sad song of the 2015. The song was ironically a sad song with a play on words which makes you smile.
5. Dil Kare – Atif Aslam
The song is also featured in the upcoming movie Ho Mann Jahaan releasing 1st January 2016. It is smooth and a treat for your ears.

6. Rockstar - Ali zafar

The Coke Studio Season 8 Episode 2 got steamy when the Chocolate Boy of the town decided to sing a rock anthem.

The vocal range of the superstar made us really see the rockstar within him.

7. Tumhein Dillagi – Soch Band7

The band is proving its mettle. To sing a song, sung by a legend and to make it your own is one tough task to do. Especially when the singer was the legend, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, one of the finest vocalist and musicians of his time. It can never be like the classy original sung by the legend himself. But the song was a hit in our diary because it never made us compare its modern beat to Nusrat’s classic, which is always good.

8. Tum Ho- Strings

For all those Strings lovers, the song Tum Ho is nostalgic and reminds us of old and wonderful times.

9. Baarish – Jimmy Khan

The song is a rubberstamped Jimmy Khan song, which is never a bad thing. The acoustic guitar and Jimmy Khan’s vocal prowess are all we need for a good musical delight.

10. Bewajah – Nabeel Shaukat Ali

The lyrical song was sung brilliantly by Nabeel Shaukat Ali. I bet it was on your minds for a few weeks.

11. Saiyan – Farhan Saeed

Farhan Saeed recapped the romantic and came up with yet another heart melting song.

12. Sammi Meri Waar – Umair Jaswal and Quratulain Baloch

Coke Studio Season 8, made us all bang our heads to the tune. The rock element provided by Umair Jaswal and the subtle yet powerful vocals of QB made many of us sing along.

13. Kithay Nain Na Jorin – Ali Sethi

The song is the essential sad yet powerful song of 2015, with Ali Sethi completely giving it all. It is one of the most unique and beautiful songs of 2015.

14. Pee Jaun – Hamza Tanveer feat Momina Muhtehsan

Hamza Tanveer and Momina Muhtehsan, sang a cover of the smash hit song of Jal band in Nescafe Basement. The duo won us over with their unique style and voices.

15. Fruiti Tooti – Ayesha Omer

The song started the ripple effect with Ayesha Omer’s bold performance in the movie Karachi Se Lahore. It indeed was an instant hit.
