KABUL: Ministry of Interior (MoI) on Tuesday said that 138 armed Taliban were killed and 86 other wounded in different crackdowns within past 24 hours.
In a press release issued here, MoI said that Afghan National Police (ANP) with the help of Afghan National Army (ANA) and National Directorate of Security (NDS) conducted joint clearance operations against insurgents in different areas of Takhar, Kunduz, Zabul, Baghlan, Logar, Herat and Helmand provinces. In these operations 138 rebels were killed and 86 others were injured.
Six insurgents were also arrested in the operations, and were handed over to the concerned authorities for further investigation.
In addition police also discovered huge cache of ammunitions in the operations.
