If India is already the most polluted country in the world, and its not even industrialized yet is very scary. Imagine if India were to start industrializing; maybe the entire planet will be covered in India's pollution -- truly horrifying.

I think we in sub-continent need to tackle these problems collectively, if there is pollution in India it also effect Pakistan and vis- versa. !

Despite capping pollution, such a focus could actually be a good growth strategy.

Last year agricultural output of india was already #2 largest in the world, reaching $356 billion p.a. Agriculture is already a pillar sector, forming 17.4% of overall GDP, highest among 30 large economies. With high % of rural population, adequate arable land, there is no reason why india can't be world largest in agricultural GDP, reaches $1 trillion p.a. soon (vs $944.6 billion of China last year). It's a trillion dollar sector, that worth looking into.

Right after Mr Modi came to power last year, he started a high profile campaign called "Clean India" or something like that. Just want to ask Indian friends here, how is the campaign going on right now, any visible change in the cities coming out of this movement?

i dont belive chinas data ,but there are more that 13 polluted cities in India.

to the op how many cities are there in Pakistan,i mean just cities no adjectives added.

I think Karachi would be on the list. Its both the second most populous city in the world and also pretty polluted. People just throw things on the street.
