13 'militants' killed in Turbat; include those behind labourers' massacre

QUETTA: At least 13 suspected militants were killed on Monday in a raid by security forces near Turbat in Balochistan’s Kech district.

Acting on a tip-off, Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and intelligence agencies forces carried out a raid against alleged militants in Gogdan, an area situated at a distance of 15 kilometres from Turbat. In the gun battle that ensued, 13 suspected militants were killed and these allegedly include those involved in the latest attack on labourers in the province.

According to security officials, levies and police personnel were also called over in wake of the encounter.

Twenty construction workers were killed and three others were injured on Saturday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in a pre-dawn attack on a labourers’ camp near Turbat.

The victims belonged to Sindh and Punjab, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti had said at the time, adding that they were working for a private construction company and building a bridge over a stream in Gogdan.

The attack also saw security forces launching a massive operation in Turbat in pursuit of the killers.

Turbat is considered as among the sensitive districts in Balochistan. It is also the home town of Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.

Heavy amount of arms and ammunitions were also recovered from the miscreants.
TURBAT (Dunya News) – At least 13 suspected terrorists including Baloch Liberation Front (BLF)Commander Hayat was killed whereas Commander Zarif was arrested during the search operationof Frontier Corps (FC) and intelligence agencies in Gaban area of Turbat today (Monday), Dunya News reported.

According to sources, the killed miscreants were involved in the murder of 20 labourers in Turbat.

The search operation was headed by Commander Makran Scouts and involved hundreds of FCofficials.

FC officials faced armed resistance and retaliated strongly killing 13 suspects.

Security forces cordoned off the area whereas search operation is still underway.

Moreover, heavy amount of arms and ammunitions were also recovered from the suspects.

Earlier, gunmen in restive western Pakistan shot and killed at least 20 workers at a dam construction site, the deadliest recent attack targeting civilians in a region facing a low-level insurgency.

The need of the hour is to stand united against the growing threat of terrorism in the region. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and families of the victims' during this difficult time. We recognize that the Pakistani security forces are working hard to restore peace in the country, and this counter attack clearly shows that Pakistani authorities will not let these enemies of peace push ahead without any consequences. It's well within the capacity of Pakistan to destroy these people, I don't know what the wait is for actually doing it.

PA should start using armed drones to hunt down big fishes & no mercy should be shown to these rented terrorists. Full scale military ops is the best way to deal with these rented terrorists & foreign elements who are directly involved in destabilizing Balochistan province.
