Analysts criticized government over the delay in the cargo flights saying that the agreement with India was a flawed decision by Kabul.
Officials from Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said at least 120 tons of fruit ready for loading are waiting for the air cargo flights to markets in India.

The ACCI officials said a large amount of the fruit has been left to rot – 15 tons of which have waiting for loading for the past 15 days.

The air cargo transportation has started without prior preparations, the ACCI deputy chief Khanjan Alokozay said, calling the air cargo transportation a “failed process”.

The World Trade Organization is not providing subsidies on Afghan exports because it is against the rules of the organization,” Alokozay told TOLOnews on Saturday.

Economic affairs analysts said Afghanistan got the World Trade Organization’s membership in a hurry and now it should do business with regional countries based on the WTO’s rules.

“Government opens a so-called way for investors in order to give a hope to the people. But at the end of the day, we see that investors bear the brunt of this flawed decision and their fruit wait for cargo flight for many days,” said Azrakhsh Hafizi, an economic affairs analyst.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industries would not comment on the WTO’s decision to prevent it from giving subsidies to India and Afghanistan.

Spokesman of the ministry, Musafir Qoqandi, said using of the air cargo transport between India and Afghanistan is based on an agreement between the two countries.

“This decision and agreement between the two countries was aimed at boosting trade ties between Afghanistan and India and it will not affect any international commitment of Afghanistan,” Qoqandi said.

The air cargo corridor inaugurated in June was a key project agreed on by Afghanistan and India at last year’s Heart of Asia Conference.

Doesn’t surprise me, baniya is kanjoos. They can’t loss money even for strategic reasons. Thats why cargo air failed and chabahar failed. Both are loss making adventures for baniya.

Failed right at start...

chabahar hasn't started but it has already been designated as a failed project by Gwadar fans...

Baniya isn’t willing to invest in port as promised. They are more interested in gas fields which make money but Iran refused to hand them over.

From Iranian press itself:

India has been eyeing Iran's port of Chabahar for development as part of its ambitious bid to access Central Asia and Afghanistan.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Tehran in May 2016, leading a large delegation to revitalize relations after the lifting of sanctions on Tehran.

However, while investment plans in Chabahar have been dogged by repeated delays, India's "oil for gas" bargain might have wider ramifications for their commercial ties.

another flop after the monkey chest thumping. what a bunch of morons.

It was bound to be a failure. It was obvious. Another drama by modi government so that kids in India and Afghanistan can cheer that they no longer need Pakistan for trade etc.

mian moohdhi shrek has covertly allowed indian trucks to use Pakistan without any authorisation. Rest is all cow manure I have been hearing of chabar port for over 10 years and this air corridor which even the yanks cant afford will be used by monkey and minions.

This is a country with 5,000 years old History MASHALLAH..Afghans day and night brag about this but can't transport there fruits

. .
Already said that in the older post
Project was doomed from start doesn't make any sense

Air Cargo is only viable for exporting and importing high value finished goods, or precious raw materials like gold, diamond etc. Air Cargo to transport fruits is simply not viable. The value of the goods inside the aircraft has to be far more than the cost of transport. But maybe I am wrong, the current fuel prices might have made it possible for this service to be fruitful(pun intended) for the time being.
