10 crore toilets to be constructed by 2019: Govt

With urbanisation this problem will die out naturally ..rather than constructing toilets it is advisible to go for small scale scientific UGD scheme ..It will compell people to get a connection as its mandatory ..In gramapanchayaths too you can find cluster of houses ..wherever you can get more than hundred houses go for UGD ..small scale sceptic tanks are in market now ..More than 80% of population can be covered like this ..For remaining houses we can go for individual toilets ..

What would be the cost of this UGD Scheme ? If implementing such schemes then have to think in terms of the larger population.

It would be around 50 lacs 2km drainage line and a sceptic tank ..can serve a population of 5000

I think already UGD schemes are there in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

We are forgetting that its not only human waste that pollutes atmosphere all that waste water that flows through open drain is main pollutant ..In urban area now govt only funds for storm water drain all other should flow through UGD ..wherever under ground drainage system is available no waste water is allowed to flow through open drainage ..Only rain water is allowed in open draibage

UNICEF has already pioneered the concept of using low-cost construction material to construct toilets under the Total Sanitation Campaign programme (TSC). The cost of each toilet is just about Rs.3,500 (USD 88.60) including all materials. The story is only about building toilets. Not about people using them. For all we know, the toilet is the only running water into the house. And it could be use for drinking or bathing.

Our building of 10 crore toilet will push us down in rank of people defected openly. China is No2 and will become No 1 because of Indian efforts to build toilet. Chines dream of Become No 1 in everything shall be realized. I give you advance congratulations..

I think here we should not think in terms of competition but in terms of uplifting living standards and providing basis needs.

If we Indians will move forward by thinking that it will be done for the betterment of humankind then that era of Savarna Yug will be infront of us.

The main points of ugd scheme is
Waste water flows underground and it will be treated scientifically ..
So you can say its a miniatured UGD scheme ..

No if my understanding is right then its not under UGD ..Its individual toilets with its own pits ..
