Reading the comments, what comes to my mind is people are misled on the Janlokpal features. Some myths I see
a) It investigates, prosecutes and gives judgement :
>>>>>> Completely false. Jan Lokpal has powers to investigate the corruption and make a case and from there on Judiciary takes...
buddy - your's is very very amateurish argument...imagine these 3 scenarios and tell me which is more effective communication ()
a) don't see the person, don't hear his/her voice and exchange written notes ( mail/chat)
b) don't see the person, hear his/her voice and communicate by talk ( phone)...
I thought the same about my country...but Anna Hazare episode changed in...we are in same frustrated state as expressed by you...and when Annaji appeared - a non-political-clean guy- ready to take politicians head on, the country rallied behind him....not the paid supporters who cheer for pack...
I fairly agree with the first part of post and questioning on France's choice.
However there's one more attribute of a non theocratic state i.e nation important than religion. So on borderline topics between nation and religion , nation gets the benefit of doubt, that's what France has gone with
its not lack of technology, but lack of strong will/self-esteem of the govt in Pakistan which ended up here....fu.. man, you cant pledge ur country for some stupid tech advancements
u summarized it very well......the country's problem should be dealt by the country itself..[applicable to every nation]...think of it , if ur a ss is itching, only u need to scratch it....allowing others is....
frankly, all power games are played by these arm chair generals/politicians in self interest....and they dont give a damn on folks who die for their games....

Actually kalmadi is a bacha in this....he loot is still old fashioned - contracts and commission, while most other politicians hv mved 21st century - Resources, Corporations, Lobbying...its like running a loot enterprise
My vote for Karunanidhi. King of politics, freebies, corruptions, castism,...you can go on.
Once Bill Gates visited Karunanidhi (10+ years back) and Bill explained his ambitious plans of expansion in India. Karuna told 'I can loan you, if u need money' :-(
Overall, this is the best week any Indian can ask for....public standing against our Netas and corrupt media....i think Indians are getting their voice back
Times Now is most sensational news maker, blowing up things beyond. However they aren't biased [as far as I've observed]. Same Times Now which covered Anna hazare episode, covered the Anna vs Baba Ramdev verbal duel and guess what, made that too sensational - with live panels, repeat telecasts...
Though I wont rate Times Now a great channel for it creates sensationalism ( mostly unwanted) I comment that they took up this and might have exaggerated but for a good cause. Kudos Times.
Strangely NDTV wasn't as vigourous initially and then caught up with it ( may be Burka camping in S.India...

This protest is not about Sharad Powar. If he goes, he is going to be replaced by one another corruption politician. In fact this isnt about any specific politician/party.
The goal of this movement is very specific - Include 50% representation from civil society & 50% politico bas**** as...
He shouldn't have been judgemental at first place. Looks like a politician in the making. BTW
why did he bring religion in to this - Unless he is also an pdf member ;-)
