It's the result of being top dog. Other great powers -- Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, Germany, Japan, Russia -- did the same when they could. China would do it too if it could. So would others. Realpolitik dictates. Not some utopian fantasy that the have-nots tend to espouse.

So be it. Arm yourself with what's best.

India needs the US. Needs F-15s, F-18s and F-35s. But ofcourse, they’re too stupid (or proud) to realize this.

Ok, let's say they got 1000 sq kms of new land...to what purpose? That land is practically useless economically (egos aside). What they've done is made an enemy of India. Why do that when you've got bigger fish to fry?

In hindsight, it looks like China screwed up engaging India for some inhospitable land no one (truly) really cares about. There was just no need. For China, It may now be a case of "chickens coming home to roost"
