TF-X's engines have been installed.
CEO Temel Kotil: "Our technicians have integrated the engines of the MMU. The technicians in question probably performed the same task around 300-400 times for our F-16's. This is not an easy task at all."
Guess what that proves? Absolutely nothing. You both are clueless about the program. TF-X's mock-up is set to be colored, like the aircraft. You're seeing naked composites. Why on earth would they build mock-up's based on composites? Terrible waste of resources and money. And TAI is still...
Now that's perfectly reasonable. However the Greek article got EVERY SINGLE THING wrong. Like literally... Gotta invite some TAI engineers in here. No need for a comedy movie night they might as well read this. I think I've got every right in this universe to be cringed by this nonsense :D...
Yea this got leaked hard lmao. And I agree with the points you made. The landing gears look like the ones on the F-15.
Tiny correction. GTU stands for "Development and Test Aircraft-0) :D
That's true. The landing gears were temporary. However the iron bird building of Hürjet is right next to her assembly facilities. Hürjet, after being semi-rolled out, was taken to TF-X's building where the static testing jig is located.
*It still isn't the iron bird. This account mixed them...
This isn't a rollout, and it isn't a ceremony. It was already announced that there wasn't going to be a ceremonial event for Hürjet. There will be a rollout ceremony for the TF-X tho. But I agree that they should've done one for Hürjet as well.
The main wing structures tend to be relatively...
No the wings can't be folded. Those are the installation points that are simply not covered up yet. Also the aircraft is identical to her final mock-up.
Volo Kompozit ve Mühendislik Ltd. Şti. : "Canopy and Structural Composite parts for TF-X successfully delivered."
Turkish company Volo is responsible for the canopy.
Well that isn't entirely true. TAI is quite secretive when it comes to this stuff. But let me just say that the GTU-0 will be a fully fledged prototype capable of flying. But this doesn't mean they will be flying it. GTU-0 is a development and test aircraft. Most of TAI's critical infrastructure...
TAI does things differently. Yes, the TF-X could be used for political purposes (most likely will). But the true reason behind the CDR thing is urgency. TAI is doing a lot of things at the same time. GTU-0 will be more than an empty shell. It will actually be used for engine runs, flightline...
