The operation conducted in SWA in2008/9 was the first of its kind massive operation conducted by Pakistani forces within Pakistan. They challenges will be similar to those faced in SWA. I'm hopeful the lessons learned from past mistakes is reflected in Pakistani forces strategy, use of small...
Now that is interesting.
F-16B 85612 now has serial 86612, F-16B 82605 has serial 83605 as well (the same aircraft which shot-down IAF UAV in June2002, now serves in 11 Sqn).
He went in the field himself, visited crash sites, visited forward bases, met with pilots and watched original cockpit footages himself....and I bet he was not on Pakistani payroll:D
No, there is cockpit light and display management panel which is used to turn on and off these lights. Glowing lights in cockpit is a very serious issue and if not managed properly it can result in an air crash as well.
Same old Pakistan Vs India Thread. Whatever Pakistanis post is either twisted facts or documented by biased people. Indian's will agree on only those part which goes with their theory...for e.g only the latter part of Chuck Yeager's statement.
"The Pakistanis whipped their [Indians'] a$$es in...
Not true. Now a days mostly Flt Lt. are flying. The newer lot will increase more after creation of third sqn.
Night strike capability is not demonstrated yet, but as Oscar said its something which is already there. Senior pilots evaluated it during night sometime ago.
For night interception...
It was posted to Rafiqui in 2010, and is still operating from the same place.
Thankyou sir for your comment.
Everything is going by the book. Which means to get to the last chapter you have to understand all previous chapters;)
You must be thinking that being a locally produced aircraft...
Good question, No.2 Sqn also has very old F-7s (from Handshake-I i guess.) I heard somewhere in 2009 that a good number of 2Sqn's F-7 were at the end of their service, some were overhauled and some F7/FT7s were taken on loan from other units. Now If C-802 AShM is integrated with JF-17...
I watched two F-7s(14Sqn possibly) circling over Qasim Aviation base, Rawalpindi. No.14 Sqn is tasked with defending the capital city an this flight could be a part of routine operational preparedness.
Not so clear shot, but thats how they were flying typical 2-ship formation.
...Thank me...
Engagements in war are never restricted to type and number. Fighter wings, air def units, ELINT/ES/AWACS/ISR and Air refueling platforms (acting as Forward Air Refueling Point (FARP)) comes up with a joint strategy based on enemy air power, potential objectives and available resources to...
I heard sometime ago (before Dubai'2011) that there is a plan to integrate HMS with Block-II, even if that happens it will be done after a year or so. In the mean time PAC and CAC have lots of other things to work out for the second block. JF-17 Block-I meets the baseline requirements of PAF...
Dark Thunder.
JF-17 Sr. # 08-108 is one of the two aircraft which received dark colored markings during alternative color scheme trials. This scheme fail to impress PAF, current low-viz paint scheme was made the standard.
This paint scheme although look beautiful but it stands out in the...
No, they were from Services wing (a.k.a 'S wing' ) of ISI, MI only focuses on armed forces. You are right that the Major Sahab over ruled various SOPs and decided to storm the place with few men and no-proper backup call to the station. He was superseded and might have thought this as the only...
TerminalX makes up stories just like the evening newspapers found on the road sides. Whether Punjabi wing of TTP exists or its other groups (like SSP, JeM, LeJ) operating under TTP's name is a different debate.
Media (and websites like these) make up stuff, last year some ISI men engaged with...
Depends on the conditions of that strip. In 2009, I asked X_man about an Ex-RAF air field in my village (Attock), he had good knowledge than me:D. It had big holes and v.poor condition..landing there won't be less than suicide:D
Incase somebody isn't following Mastan's posts...here is a quick recap:P
