BJP is the largest GOON Party of India.

The last time BJP had formed the government, the Prime Minister went to visit Pakistan for a peace mission. Kargil happened soon after that.

Italy to send marines back to India

I hope this matter is now disposed off quickly. Italy shouldn't have escalated the stakes in this manner which reeks of oppurtunitism unbecoming of a sovereign country like Italy. India should hopefully learn its own lesson about not being too trusting and to complete the legal formalities...

India trumps Pakistan's Iran rice trade boom with oil rupees

What is the staple source for carbohydrates in the middle east? It surely can't be rice since paddy requires a lot of water. I am aware of couscous being used in North Africa which is based on wheat but then again the climate in North Africa is quiet different to the middle east.

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Isn't this already what happens right now and state and federal laws trump over all others? Why does the Florida Senate think that they need another law? I always thought that you cannot sign away your fundamental rights by getting into a contract. and Are religious communities actually asking...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Nobody is suggesting that an outside law the way you describe it should be introduced in the US.

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Can someone please summarise what exactly does the law state. From the link Senate Bill 0058 (2013) - The Florida Senate Isn't this exactly what happens already? A person's fundamental rights, followed by state & federal laws will trump all other laws in Florida. There doesn't seem to be any...

Operating systems: Windows 7/8 Vs Ubuntu

Fedora launches every 6 months and each version is EOLed in 2 years. So running a distro 4 revision behind means working without the latest security/bug fixes. I usually start out with the latest version about 3 months after release, keep it for a year before upgrading to the latest one 2-3...

Operating systems: Windows 7/8 Vs Ubuntu

I personally use Fedora but wouldn't recommend it to a new beginner. Fedora is designed to be cutting edge and is therefore a testing ground for all the latest versions of software. This can be very disruptive and a source of frustration for new users. Examples of software which when launched...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Are we still talking of Florida? In that case you guys were foolish to let the man leave because you guys follow some tribal laws from the last millennium. He should have been made to stand a proper trial and I believe that is exactly what would have happened in Florida. He took advantage of...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

it doesn't matter if all parties are of a particular community, if any of the party concerned do not want to subject themselves to Sharia law, then they have all rights to reject it.

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Is that considered arbitration within the bounds of secular law? Can you draw up an employment contract which says that the employer can kill you if you don't do your work? No. Same holds true for that case too.

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

All contracts have to be within the bounds as defined by secular law. Any contract drawn which goes against the laws of the land cannot be enforced and you will be prosecuted.

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Sharia law here doesn't trump secular laws of the land. They are simply a means of arbitration. If arbitration is allowed under secular laws, then the parties could use whatever logic they can think of the arbitrate. This can include Sharia in my opinion. This arbitrage will have to happen...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

In the same vein religious based personal laws in India are a joke. A Christian was not allowed to divorce with just mutual consent and instead there had to be accusations of adultery/insanity/cruelty. This seems to have changed recently. Christian Law of Divorce in India - Wikipedia, the free...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

If it is a matter like divorce where no children are involved and both parties are willing to be bound by Sharia laws, then what is the problem?

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

I believe if the person has left a will behind then the wishes in the will will have to be honoured. However if some provisions of the will go against secular law and the aggrieved party objects, then the will may be declared void and secular laws will apply. Disputes with relation to legality...

    'Anti-Sharia' law is back

Have there been any instances of a foreign or religious law used in a family case? The only instance was a case where a Jewish couple was allowed to use jewish law for divorce proceedings in a manner akin to arbitration. I don't see anything wrong in this sort of scenario where other secular...

Operating systems: Windows 7/8 Vs Ubuntu

I would dispute this claim. There is a lot of choice in window managers available on Linux systems. If you don't like unity, you can chose from gnome, XFCE, KDE, window maker, etc. The GUI interface is just one part of the operating system and it can be easily replaced by some other. OS X...

Is being Anti-Islam the same as Pro-Indian?

Interestingly even in India I've heard people calling others secular in a derogatory manner. Something on the lines of being secular means being anti-India. Idiots in India have been learning from the idiots in our neighbouring country. Edit - On further reading, it looks like those idiots have...
