I have to say Kobiraaz's pictures clearly point to the fact that the Jamati hartal seems to be far more successful than some people claim. This leads to wider questions.
1. The Jamat has clearly shown the Awami League that they are still strong when the elections are only 10 or so months away...
I have stated the same before.
All I can add is.
1. Army really, truly does not want to have to stage another takeover as it will look bad for Bangladeshi history e.g. "2 military takeovers in less than a decade". It wants Bangladeshi democracy to flourish.
2. This time the army-backed...
The pictures that Kobiraaz has posted, if not selective propaganda, seem to indicate that the Jamat hartal has certainly made an impact.
Is that true, for those reliable Bangladeshis e.g. @animelive @PlanetSoldier @ShadowFaux @madx who are in Dhaka right now?
1. Thanks for showing me the link, appreciated.
2. Now back to arguing. You highlighted the parts which supported your thesis. The WSJ piece was quite balanced showing both sides it was hardly as pro-Jamat as I would have thought after reading your last post.
In terms of objectivity and...
Anti-strike activists dominate Dhaka streets
Staff Correspondent, bdnews24.com

Anti-strike activists marched through the streets of the capital as Jamaat-e-Islami supporters were conspicuous by their absence during the...
Interesting.
Do you have a link to the WSJ site?
You might be totally right. I don't know. I was strongly of the belief the US would try to prevent the banning of Jamat but I still get the feeling that they will - rightfully so - still be banned.
I could be totally wrong.
P.S. stop using...
lol
1. I actually know Jamatis including a Jamati former Bangladeshi judge here in London. I also know (not that well but spoken to him, my friend knows him very well) Maulana Abu Said personally and he gave a talk in my cousin's wedding, and I've had a meal with him and others (you probably...
1. I have said the Awami League has more rezakars in their party than any other, read my posts before lecturing me. I notice you always defend the pro-Jamatis on here but are silent when people like Al-Zakir or M_Saint insult people's families.
2. I have also said both the BNP and Awami League...
The key words here are "have spoken" not "are speaking".
You might be right.
I am not sure exactly what is going on but from what I can see it seems like Jamat is going to be a banned illegal organization in Bangladesh and as we can see even here it will hurt the feelings of one or two on this...
Stop trying to silence all anti-Jamat comments on here. There are 10 times more anti-Awami comments on here.
This is what he said:
He didn't call any PDF member here a Jamati but spoke of Jamatis in general.
Jamat is a party, it exists. We are allowed to criticized it just as when I also...

1. I have no "agenda", apart from the fact that I hate Jamatis/rezakars. My agenda does not include getting votes for any political party like some here, or making money from Bangladeshi politics, or igniting a war with India.
2. I am not exactly sure what the US/UK are up to so put this...
UK wants war crimes perpetrators punished
PM for int'l pressure on Myanmar to take back Rohingyas

The United Kingdom (UK) has said it wants to see those who unleashed atrocities during the 1971 liberation war in Bangladesh are punished through due...
1. I have said I am opposed to violence against any Bangladeshi.
This includes the deaths of Jamatis (excluding convicted war criminals). I hope you say the same about the girl, Lucky, who was hospitalized which the Jamati-supporters on this forum were gloating about.
2. "Civil war" (i.e...
He deserves a funeral.
However only a Muslim can be given a Muslim funeral.
Anyway this is not the main issue, the main issue is moving our country forward against those who seek to destroy it, those who are now speaking of how they will wage civil war in Bangladesh. Such comments by any...
So do you think this Imam is an apostate - who has left Islam?
Actually don't answer that question because if you said yes and he wasn't according to Sunni Islam this would take you out of Islam, as takfeer on a Muslim makes someone leave the fold of Islam.
The point being is you are a...
So do you agree with those Deobandis you referred to above that the Sholakia Imam who spoke out against your political allies, Jamat is an apostate, who has left Islam?
Not really.
Jamati-sympathizers on this forum have been promoting their narrative here for years.
Normal Bangladeshis know that things are different in real life, so I just want to let Indians know this too. I have also tagged Pakistani posters such as somebozo, SHAMK9 and others at times.
I...
For those who do not understand the full context.
1. BNP activist Kobiraaz who says he supports the Jamat e Islami as coalition allies has tagged me in the above post.
2. A few days ago he openly admitted he has been trolling me on this forum.
So I have to be very careful what I say in...
