As Indian states start producing surplus power - one after another, it is time to move from fuel guzzlers to Electricity - starting with fully Electrified Railways and migrating to Electric Vehicles.
China has been very smartly moving in this direction rapidly. Time for us to follow the suit.
As much as I want Kejriwal and his brand of politics to go away, it would be a mistake to make him a martyr of any kind. Let him die a slow and painful but natural death.
And I don't think Kejriwal is the kind of person who will enjoy being in opposition benches for long. Once he loses power...
What the ...! Are you even for real?
Try this language in your adopted country and see how long you last. India has been far too kind for people with this kind of attitude towards their own compatriots.
@Topic
Humble, nationalistic, respected by one and all. I think he would be a tremendous...
That's alright but if I am not wrong, BJP's own record in the last 10 years of MCD rule hasn't been stellar either. Even if BJP wins MCD (that is still an 'if'), and continues with its mediocre performance beset with corruption like it has been now, I am afraid we will only be handing AAP 67...
I am not proposing anything, mate. I am just stating what the article above says about European Pollution already affecting India's Monsoon patterns.
If a seemingly benevolent Europe can unwittingly cause such a profound impact on India's monsoon and therefore impact more than a billion people...
Scary!
You could hold vast swathes of countries and populations to ransom if you could engineer such changes in Monsoon patterns simply by altering your pollution patterns. It could be utterly devastating.
I know, but some of these politicians face more threats than others - both internal and external. Either way, important constitutional heads need to be protected and if that means a little bit of public inconvenience, so be it.
Exactly. I know that in Sweden even the PM travels by public transport, but we are NOT Sweden. I am OK with the idea, but at the same time I don't want my Prime Minister/President and important government officials to be sitting ducks in traffic - especially considering the severity of threats...
I know that Prabhu inherited a very messy system.
For the most part, it is not his fault that passengers are facing inconveniences. But my only problem with Mr. Prabhu is that, if I am not mistaken, he is in the process of replacing pantry cars with additional passenger coaches to generate...
I don't at all mean that the Minister himself is looking into the tweets. I am sure the Railway authorities monitor tweets addressed to the Minister.
But ask yourself why one needs to send emergency tweets just to get milk for a crying baby. I shudder to think about millions of poor/illiterate...
If it takes an SOS tweet to fcuking Union Rail minister of India just to get milk to a hungry baby on a train, then I am sorry - something is really rotten about this system.
Mind you - For every SOS that some really empowered but distressed passenger sends, there may be hapless millions who...
I guess it is for both since both of them are subjected to similar taxation in the other country.
Besides, the number of government employees working in the other country might be very small (possibly <100).
Respectfully disagree, Sir.
India being the Upper Riparian state is the one that follows the standards set in IWT. Pakistan obliges by just accepting the water released to it. I mean it can't get any easier than that for anybody.
Had Pakistan also been an upper riparian state for a couple of...
We badly need a Golden Quadrilateral kind of thing for the DFC's along with a direct east-west and north-south access.
Even more importantly, I think India should build a DFC-like strategic trunk infrastructure through Siliguri Corridor as well. I don't know about the topography of Siliguri...
Not all of them are large size holders. But yes, they all know the tricks in the book and previous experiences have taught them exactly how one qualifies for such loan waivers.
Exactly. Getting new technologies, education, training and providing irrigation (including micro/rainwater harvesting based) will go a far longer distance. But these are early days for Yogi and I sincerely hope BJP ruled states take a lead in overhauling the agriculture that is so badly needed...
Speaking of Yogi's achievements, I don't consider loan-waiver a good thing by itself. Not only is it not fiscally prudent, but also discourages honest loan repayment in the hope that the loans will waived. I know several farmers personally, that don't need loans, but who deliberately take loans...
I have also been critical of Yogi's choice as CM for the most important state (politically, anyway) in India. I think it is too early to say.
But I will be very very happy if I am proven wrong.
