Can anybody tell that why world wide its trend to place AWACS on passenger planes? Does it require too much power/energy that a fighter jet can't provide? Or their is some other reason?

Probably you are unaware of Mar 1 missiles with Pakistan which we bought from Brazil & are unaware of details mentioned by PAF for thunder. Thunder with AESA Radar, data link & PL-15 backed by awacs should be good enough for any fighter below 5th generation.

I have one confusion if anyone clarify then I shall be thankful. Block 2 has data link and we already have AWACS then why AESA presence in Block 3 is so hyped up? I can understand that individual jet having AESA will be helpful in reducing dependency on AWACS but what new capability AESA is...
