"Dielectric composite materials are more transparent to radar, whereas electrically conductive materials such as metals and carbon fibers reflect electromagnetic energy incident on the material's surface."

There is also di-electric material that is invisible to radar. Famously wooden airframe of the Mosquito in WW2 and in modern times, there are certain plastics and composites that are dielectric. (I hope I have the right term, haven't used that term in a while. Originally, I wanted Azm to be a...

Yes, totally awesome idea - conformal carriage. I was writing about this and also I've been writing about semi-conformal carriage. You could have two BVRs in conformal "internal bay" and more semi-conformal, and if you want even more, just use clip on pylons as messiach once suggested.

Something else that I was thinking about was - what would happen if someone developed a fighter radar that is in between the traditional x band frequencies and the S band frequency? A longer wavelength X band or a shorter wavelength S band? Could it potentially be good enough to: 1. Cue active...

I think single tail is possible (without having done any RCS studies of it) if the aim of the stealth is only frontal stealth to an ark of 70 degrees off the nose. The vertical tail means side stealth will be compromised. Almost all stealth aircraft are unstealthy from the top quadrant. Many...

Featured Pantsir M CIWS world's newest and most powerful CIWS makes debut on Karakurt class battleship

We may not always agree but at least we understand and respect each other's viewpoints, and know what each of us thinks and likes. I think would be an easy upgrade for a number of ships but not sure how good this system will work. Sometimes Russians sell you borochures and lemons.

I'm kind of advocating taking the massive advance that Block 3 has achieved (AESA, EW, DAS, sensor fusion, FBL) and putting it in a new physical airframe. this airframe being stealthier and with greater growth potential, and being based on China's most mature and mass produced fighter engine.

Beautiful design and interesting but was thinking more stealth than this... perhaps an ability to carry 2 PL-15s internally. A lot is possible. Remember, if it looked like this, it would fail Chak Bamu's "visibly clean sheet design"...

    Pakistan F-16 Discussions 2

Between, still surprised PAF isn't using metallurgical techniques to reduce fatigue on Mirage airframes. You wrote about following F-16 methods but problem with that is that F-16s have heavy carbon and composite usage, while Mirages are mainly aluminum alloy. The techniques for reducing fatigue...

    JF-17: Low Level Strike (Concept)

@MastanKhan MK it's been such a long journey. Ah, those days you were ridiculed, chided, insulted, attacked in every way possible, including by mods, who would silently allow such attacks and even engage themselves in attacking you. I played a tiny role too - but I think the argument eventually...

Featured Terrorist bomb planting groups unite to target China's Belt and Road

CPEC benefits Baluchistan more than any other province. Anyone who is Baluchi and supports their interests would support it. Surprisingly, this group wants to attack it instead.

A month back I posted something and the mods deleted it and asked me not to let the cat out of the bag, so preferring silence.

    JF-17 Block-3 -- Updates, News & Discussion

Block 3 already has HOBS capability. Pak has better things to do than reinvent the wheel... just my 0.02. I could be wrong. Perhaps another perspective could be to get critical technology transfer so Pak can make IR seekers at home.

    The Turks of Southern Azerbaijan

And that is the single biggest reason why Turkey stopped being a great power, and became a pawn in the chessboard till Erdogan came. But Erdogan is still not sure footed enough, aggressive enough, strategic enough, though million times better than the secularists.

    PAKISTAN NAVY SHIPS: YARMOOK-CLASS CORVETTE

I'm going to have to disagree here. Algerian experience was a nightmare. It is not practical to upgrade the F-22P meaningfully with partial Western systems... just my 0.02.
