I agree with ak56. It is time to let it go or at least put it on the backburner. Let the rest of Pakistan develop, we have 40% of Kashmir and it is proving very beneficial to us because of our border with China. Let us not shoot ourselves in the foot by asking for a referendum in Kashmir...

It is not debatable that the northern areas were a part of the state of Kashmir. That means if AJK is going to be let go, then the northern areas must also be let go. How will this referendum be implemented? Will all the areas forming Kashmir in 1947 vote over independence, or just AJK and...

Pakistan's northern areas, which form our border with China is a part of the original princely state of Kashmir. I highly doubt Pakistan will let go of such a vital area.

Isn't the PA number like the PAK number of the air force? If so, it is based on which basic graduation course the officer belonged to. How officers are numbered within their own coursemates, I do not know.
