If chinese have 3 sections then its aesa and the dish wont rotate. 3 sections give them 360 coverage. Yups they PAF do have plan for future upgrade but would depend how much benefit aesa gives compared to current system.

Not a 100 percent. Some say PAF got pesa radars, while chinese may be having aesa or may be pesa. Ours came first and then chinese got them inducted. So they would have made changes as per their requirements.

With the CSF drying up, the per sortie cost for bombing / recon is very high which will put extra financial burden on PAF resources. This is something they should have done very long time ago. If this gets inducted, can be used for training purposes and COIN ops with low cost operationally.

17-002 means, it came into service in 2017 and 002 means its the 2nd chopper which came in service in 2017. From what i heard the number is 4-6 helicopters but not sure if all will come in one batch.
