Actually my roots are pushtun, surprise surprise, but for some reason I'm overly attracted to muhajir culture (nanial :P)
Plus I don't live in Pakistan often, most are experience of family
I don't remember whether he applied in West Pakistan or East, so ti could be a regional issue. But it's a good thing it's better now, I'll try myself soon inshallah.
I mean when my father and his friend applied they got rejected before any selection took place,they got sent back right after applying
And in govt jobs my mamoo has seen himself how they don't accept anymore and slowly all the old ones are being retired

Alhamdulillah only recently the military is becoming more accepting, before it was much harder for muhajirs to get it. (My dad's personal experience)
But in sindh on the other hand, muhajirs can't get govt. jobs, they can't be in police, can't be in rangers, can't get into universities...
My experience in Dubai says otherwise, these guys are far, far more religious than Pakistanis(although a different definition than what you picture religious to mean)
All of them are regulars at mosques.
