India to get its first upgraded Mirage 2000 this month

LCA rathers looks like the 2000.. ;)

India to get its first upgraded Mirage 2000 this month

It's not a lambda upgrade. The 2000H will be ported to the 2000-9 standard, which is the most capable one. It's not called "mini-Rafale" for nothing.

nEUROn: success for test campaign in France

Are your working in Activision's AI department, or in Dassault Aviation's AI department ? ;)

China versus France which is more powerful?

Please don't feed this silly *** guy called Superboy. I can't tell what's the saddest thing here, this comment, or the two guys who thanked him. I doubt Nasser would have thought the same thing, when he got his *** kicked following the Opération Mousquetaire.

How fighter jets target and lock on

To be fair, I think it's a non-issue. It's just the way engineers chose to display this data, and I think there's nothing to understand ;)

How fighter jets target and lock on

    They removed the zero : 160 = 16, 100 = 10, etc.. And L/R means left/right.

How fighter jets target and lock on

Considering the VVS barely have a few baseline R-77 in service, this paragraph is pretty funny.

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions [Thread 2]

Su-30MKI, as well as the great majority of Sukhoi 27/30/34/35 aircraft, are only using fuel tanks for ferry purposes. On the other hand, Rafale's combat payloads always include two to three RPL 751, 2000 L fuel tanks, which are not reducing its ammunition payload capability (a typical deep...

How fighter jets target and lock on

My initial post was wrong, and I corrected myself, caution ! ;) It's just a shorter way to give this information. The APG-68 display is cluttered enough, so I guess the designers tried to gain a maximum of space. This data is also shown on the F-16's HUD on dogfight mode.

How fighter jets target and lock on

The bugged target has a 160° angle aspect, not 16. An aircraft can be : - Hot, for an aspect angle between 160 and 180° - Cranking (or flanking), between 120 and 160° - Beaming (or notching), between 70 and 110° - Below 70°, the aircraft is said to be Cold, or Dragging. The Russians are far...

    Should India go for F-35?

Everyone knows Rafale is actually a 2nd gen aircraft.

Dassault Rafale, tender | News & Discussions [Thread 2]

"one wonders why Dassault has refused permission for mounting the Brahmos on the Rafale " Maybe because the BrahMos is too long to be carried by the Rafale ? France has been extremely patient with the MMRCA deal. It's time for India to drop their whims and finally sign the god damn contract...

    Terrain masking

French Air Force also trains a lot using low level - automated or not - penetration attacks, especially for the Strategic Air Force (with Rafale B and Mirage 2000N units). A great executed low level run (French standards are set to 550 kts, 200 ft in automated mode - can go a little lower and...

Who has the strongest air force in ME ?

I think you guys are heavily underestimating UAE inventory. While their training is far from being the Israeli's, they have top notch fighters, with impressive electronics. Desert Falcons and Mirage 2000-9EAD are among the best in their class ; the latter served as a basis for developing Rafale...
