Why liberals must support a common civil code

If our per capita GDP reaches $10k, with a population of about 1.2b, our economy will be $12trillion strong, foreign investments would have consolidated, defence expenditure will be less of a problem, and honestly, minorities will be educated enough to ask for it themselves. Yes, you could...

Why liberals must support a common civil code

When per capital GDP rises to $10,000 p.a.. We should focus on that first. Everything else is simply a distraction.

Why liberals must support a common civil code

Look, I'm in complete support of uniform civil code and completely against reservation, being a victim of it myself. I don't consider myself liberal or conservative - but simply pragmatic. India, considering where it is right now, is not in a position for both. We need fast economic growth and...

Why on earth does this always have to be BJP vs AAP vs Congress all the time? Can't we for once think if this is actually wrong in an absolute scale? LOL - couldn't follow what the guy spoke since I can't speak Hindi but that's the same one alright!

India's Change In GDP Calculation Method Seems Highly Sensible

:what: Measuring GDP at factor cost involves estimating the production cost of every product forming a part of the GDP and is usually a very unreliable guess, since final products will have several intermediary products which also are estimated at factor cost. Anyway, since you're probably not...

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Urdu is a part of the Indo-European language tree and is more closely related to Sanskrit than Arabic or Indus Valley. Go google any map of aryan settlements or empires before Islamic invasion and you will find buddhists, hindus, greeks in Pakistan. Now you may mythologically draw that modern...

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

This is what the article says: Four human skeletons, believed to be 5,000 years old, have been found by archaeologists from the site of Harappan civilisation at Rakhi Garhi Also: It does not say Harappa but says Harappan Civilization. Rakhi Garhi is about 300kms from Harappa. Not sure if this...

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Aww someone took the cookie away from the pooor lil kid :frown: Explain to me how modern day Pakistanis are related to Harappans again. Unless the current Pakistanis share a cultural bond with the Harappans, your claim of sole ownership is the equivalent of saying the dinosaurs that lived in...

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

First Harappa has nothing to do with India - now Harappa may have some small portion in India  At least 9 cities in the map south of Sutlej were a part of India against 15 or so in Pakistan. That's 37.5% if my math is right.

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

There is no evidence that the Indus Valley civilization was destroyed by the migrating Aryans. Merely a hypothesis that has since been dis proven. The battle could be something as direct as in-fighting amongst the Aryans: Battle of the Ten Kings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Vishnu Purana, Bhagwat Gita etc are later period compilations written after the Ramayana. Please quote some rig veda or yajur veda text which mentions rama from ramayana. This would be something useful to me too.

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

I need to buy you a beer! Exactly, to be claiming the vedas have existed eternally implies the vedas were brought to India when people migrated from east africa - or when homo habilis turned into homo erectus - or that dinosaurs followed the vedas.

This. It always surprises me when people view their identity to be uniquely and perfectly traceable back 5000 years.

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Where does the rig veda talk about rama? The meaning of Rama means pleasing - any potential source where vedas mention rama is an indication that it's talking about a god who is pleasing - not rama from ramayana. I'd like to hear more on this though since I could be wrong.

Ancient Harappan-era skeletons found in Haryana

Not sure I follow this. The Indo-Aryan migration and the rig veda have their roots in modern day Turkmenistan and a proto Indo-Iranian religion. The Avesta, which is the religious book of the Parsis, has several phrases which sound similar to those in the vedas. Old Iranian/Avestan: aevo pantao...
