Two somewhat wild possibilities:
8-9 hits on various targets have been found so far.
If emission info on Patriot radar is correct, it's possible that some Fateh series missiles of the total of 15 were used to destroy the Patriot. It could have been stationed quite far away from the base we...
Qiams were apparently used to create craters in various runway sections: A clear capability-only demonstration that means base operations can be also stopped by heavy warheads that create deep craters.
All was a IRGC-ASF capability demonstration on live U.S targets.
I wonder why some talk...
All good:
Fateh series kill one point object with a ~500kg warhead.
500kg is not a large warhead, it just kills that point.
It also hits at mach 3,5.
Goal of this tactical weapon is to destroy A SINGLE point-target. Hangars, bunkers etc.
As anticipated:
Iran today ended the age of airbase projected airpower, or better said the high value given to it.
Hopefully Trump understands this live demonstration.
People criticize me and IRGC-ASF but now Pentagon says that Iran intentionally missed.
We showed Trump what will happen if he dares to do anything.
The revenge will be taken in a different way, IRGC-ASF creates deterrence against strikes on Iran.
Yes Qiam empty booster stage.
This IRGC-ASF may have been a lesson on how Iran can knock out large airbases and its assets, effectively eliminating the air power it can project. Also a proof that ABM is not effective.
Lets see the damage assessment in the next days.
The blood for the revenge...
Bear in mind, Iran had people like Shahkd Hamedani and Tehrani Moghaddam who where never introduced to the public before their death.
We can expect people of Shahid Solemanis calibre in the background.
R.I.P Sardar.
He finally got what he always wanted.
Trump confirmed that it was intended.
For some reason I woke up in the middle of the night when it happened and checked my phone. Then the news was just a convoi hit at Bagdad airport :(
We could say that Iran now has 15 or more Ghadir class subs that are effective in the Persian Gulf and especially the straight of Hormuz.
We could say that with the Fateh class Iran now has a new product to become active in the gulf of Oman and northern Indian Ocean (Kilos aside).
A next...
Submarines are a special category.
- Reliability is of greatest importance especially for economic and continuous operation.
- Next to no foreign subsystems will be available to Iran
- AIP is critical technology that is owned by few companies and even Japan just goes to buy AIP tech.
-...
No Crotale can't lock after launch nor can any air target be detected targeted from underwater.
Better just concentrate on the role of submarines.
With VLS silos for land attack cruise missiles, the Besat is already getting a capability normally limited to nuclear subs, de facto a strategic...
The new Besat is a 3000+ ton, single hull AIP submarine with VLS. There is no submarine with such features available today.
So Iran is trying to jump to state of the art level from zero. It only has Kilos at hand to learn from, 70's level tech. as no top technology design was somehow captured...
Smoke generating solid fuel propellant are more powerful than smokeless in general.
Americans like to sacrifice range for smokeless feature on their AAMs. Never on something as serious as ballistic missiles.
Not a license.
Russia would never sell a license of a item that is the best it is currently producing to Iran.
Why would they create a competing product?
Something different:
As said, if this is really a thermal camera with LRF and ballistic calculator, it would make the 20mm Arash rifle...
Apparently nobody noticed that the Dehlaviye-2, Kornet-M was also shown during the defense industry exhibition. It's range is 2,5km longer at 8km, like a heavy Hellfire.
It can be identified by the rounded rear stabilizer fins, which can handle the higher speeds of this missile better.
You...
Defense industry showed a Misagh MANPAD with a simple and quite cheap eye display system and a gyro orientation system. For probably a few hundert dollars extra (likely less), each Misagh can be linked to a Seraj/Sefat/modernized-Skyguard optical system of a AAA system and add a missile...
Sorry baradar, these tests are vertical and much harder to estimate. From the test stand size and scars we can be sure it was something big, either the already tested 80t engine or a 4 nozzle twin variant with 160t of thrust.
Someone would have to calculate whats possible with that size test stand.
