The first post of this thread by @ChineseTiger1986 is clearly a misunderstanding, since not until yesterday did pop3 tacitly admit the start of the construction of the 3rd carrier.

Why would it take China 10 years to build a carrier?
As far as I am concerned, pop3 has never said anything like that.
Neither has CSSC confirmed any information about the 3rd carrier.
Is it 2014 or 2016?
Let's wait and see.
One big round radome, two turboprop engines, four vertical stabilizers... I suppose there will be no much big difference between their total configurations.
It is the carrier-based AEW/transport aircraft of 603 Institute rather than the LRSB which deserves special attention right now. I suggest starting a new thread. :-)
The 7th Five Year Plan (“七五”) is the initiative began in 1986 and ended in 1990. This is exactly what I refer to as "the target performances set in the late 1980s". WS-10A was as well abandoned and replaced by WS-10B1.
Make sure we are clear with the unit before we discuss.
WS-10/WS-10A -- 12,500 kgf
WS-10H -- 12,800 kgf
WS-10B -- 13,200 kgf
WS-10IPE -- 14,000 kgf

Whether the designation is 001A or 002 has long been discussed. The fellow you quote is no more than a troll who always blends his own headcanons into rumors.
In terms of the "long-range strike bomber", I know as much as you do.
I suspect many of our friends on this forum did not realize the level of sensitivity of it.
