First Look At Futuristic Variant Of India's Tejas Fighter - Orca

13 hardpoints sound normal. Mk1/Mk1A has 7+pod+gun=9. Mk2 has gun removed from ventral, plus 2 Wingtips, thus 10+pod+gun. ORCA is TE and thus has wider fuselage and more thrust, so 12+pod+gun is right.

First Look At Futuristic Variant Of India's Tejas Fighter - Orca

Very tough to crack indeed. We're proud of developing Kaveri to a respectable thrust number on a peanut budget, but pride will get us nowhere. Engine development requires national project status. That's how all these "capitalism wins" defence companies started off.

First Look At Futuristic Variant Of India's Tejas Fighter - Orca

Every fighter (and one LIFT) India has in development, naval or air force, except AMCA, is based on the Tejas/LCA.

First Look At Futuristic Variant Of India's Tejas Fighter - Orca

It's because Tejas Mk1 has been ready for a long time, with a few more additional things added in time. The idea that it's not ready is simply because it wasn't mass produced. Mk1 became less of a necessity with the upgrades on almost all IAF fighters, especially the Bison. The idea was to...

First Look At Futuristic Variant Of India's Tejas Fighter - Orca

As I said in the Tejas thread, it's a derivative of ADA's Tejas Mk2 design, but by HAL. While ADA is developing SE Mk2 for Air Force and TEDBF for Navy, HAL wants to create a TE Omni-Role fighter that can work for both, just like Rafale. After decades of being a production powerhouse, HAL has...

ORCA, as suspected (since it's the only non-AMCA twin engine project), is a TEDBF contender. It'd likely primarily be a naval design, then ported to air force if needed. Note that "omni role" is a term Dassault uses for Rafale, which entered Navy first. The model above is a "coarse surface...

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

The only claim to fame is that it's tweeted by a HAL test pilot. It's certainly not an ADA project. Could be one of the things HAL is playing with, by modifying ADA Mk2.

Compare the specs, but stop comparing the production of these two fighters. PAF was desperate for fighters and thus went ahead with a barebone Blk1, which IAF would never do. With Blk2, PAF had an okay thing, comparable to Mk1, with some shortcomings in avionics. By then, IAF found it wise to...

"Realistic looking" Tejas sims exist. The one posted earlier is a Distributed Engineer in Loop Simulator, which should be more versatile. The Distributed Engineer-in-the-Loop Simulator (DELS) is being used extensively by National Control Law (CLAW) team for the development and evaluation of...

    Cheapest cars in Pakistan/India/Bangla/China

You should ignore the lowest trim specifications in India because it's just for quoting a low price on advertisements by removing all features. The lowest trim is usually not available at any dealer. Anyway, cheap cars in India: Nano GenX, a great city car by the end of its production, more...

    HAL Tejas | Updates, News & Discussions-[Thread 2]

I saw a false statement about the number of hardpoints on Mk2 in another thread. To clarify, Both Mk1 and Mk1A have 7+pod+gun = 9 hardpoints. But gun isn't generally counted. Mk2 has 11 hardpoints, excluding the gun which has been moved to the top. 9 of Mk1/Mk1A + 2 Wingtips + Gun extra.
